i voted no for the reason that sifting through a 300+ page thread to find an accessory - i personally dont have the patience and also, when the accessory DB it up it wont be as neccessary IMO, but hey thats just me

How about we add accessories category to the regular NES games database? Then at least it will be properly organized/indexed/searchable.

The accessories database has been up for 3 years now, but it just needs more entries. To find it, do this:

1. Click on "Database" at the top of the window
2. Choose "NES" and "Accessories" from the "Search Options" area (far left, the default search is "Games")
3. Click "Search"

I'd almost rather work on the database than create a massive thread, but we could always use the thread to track which items are missing in the database.

Yeah I think the accessories market is about as niche as screw variants. Database = Good, Thread = Not so much.

The accessories DB has already saved my life countless times!

how about i do the thread with all of what i have that is 100% CIB
after that a mod or admin can use any of the info for the DataBase ?

^If you want to talk about SICK accessory variants, Speedy could chime in with tons. At this point, I don't see how he couldn't have close to 1000 CIB accessories.

I've also got quite a few that aren't in the database.  One a side note, anybody have any CIB accessories they want to sell?  I haven't added anything to the collection in a while.  I'm especially looking for CIB ZIngers and Zappers.

Haha, yeah, I wish I had 1000 accessories.    It's getting really hard to find stuff these days.  I have somewhere between 500-600 now, probably closer to 500.  I did find more than a dozen this month tho, so it's been a very promising year so far

I'm planning on reorganizing parts of my collection in the next month or two (most accessories are stored away in closed compartments), so if people are interested I can take pics of a few variant or company subsets while at it. 

I voted yes for the accessory thread btw.  I don't see it as a replacement or parallel of the database, but rather as a complementary place to openly discuss them.

I thought you were getting out of accessory collecting.

instead of a thread, what about an accessories sub board, like the protoculture board? I don't know if I'd ever leave

I really don't think so. I think that the database combined with the appropriate sub-boards right now would be enough to categorize any post about accessories.
