About the label....
Why didn't you alter it slightly to make it attractive, but still set it apart from the original?
Just curious.
Pretty neat to see this collection in Huntsville. Do you know or have a relation to earlyworm, as well? I had a full ntsc retail set(including stadium events but broke it up.)
North Alabama is really a strange destination for this stuff

Over half the US populus lives in "Armpit" USA. If you don't live on the East Coast or the West Coast, chances are nothing good comes to your area. Texas is the lone exception to this rule. I'm in Armpit, Louisiana. Shreveport/Bossier is a fairly sized metropolitan area, but nothing good really comes here aside from the casinos. Well we do have the state fair grounds and a decent festival plaza. Huntsville has a freakkin' Space Center...

Oh, and Bossier's getting it's first Comic Con in February 2015...

i just read the entire thread from back in 2009 about Nick and this guy seems like one of the biggest scumbags to grace this site. Also the nwc gold is cool but i personally would never put a fake label on it, especially with the help of a known re-sealer and con-artist. i wasnt around back than so i may not know the whole story but from what i read, What did you expect the outcome of this thread to be?   the thread i read is linked below. if anything has been cleared up since this than i apologize in advance.

To me, this fake label, completely devalues something like this. I hope you used something that won't peel the gold off when you or the person you sell it to, wants to remove it.

And of all people to help you make a fake something or other...

My thoughts exactly.

Not sure about Nick, but if I was personal friends with someone who was or became a banned NA member, I wouldn't end my friendship over it. Plenty of banned NA members still carry on elsewhere. Satoshi Matrix runs an excellent blog. Tanooki was a pretty good guy and I miss his rantings; he just crossed the line once too many and didn't know when to shut up. You can hit both of them up on DigitPress.

I feel there are different kinds / breeds of banned members, and personally feel that the hall of shame / banned members list need to be revised in some sort of way to reflect that.  People that have petty disagreements / arguements with mods and what not shouldn't be thrown into the same category as the true scammers.  Someone like Tanooki, we chatted many a time, and he seemed like an honest chap...definitely shouldn't be in the same category as your Nick Morgans, imo, yet both of them are banned, without much to distinguish one breed from the other.

When I read the OP's message, I shit myself, and was cleaning skidmarks out of my undies when I read the name Nick Morgan.  Glad to see a picture of that guy in the flesh.  When you scam the community that much, repeatedly, I feel that is when there is a problem.  Let bygones be bygones, but at the same time, I see a guy that is dropping thousands on NWC carts, and I compare his money to mine.  I work two jobs and do reselling on the side, and I don't think I would be having the kind of money to drop on a NWC in a long time, especially on a whim.  This guy scammed people for money, got rich, and is now throwing around 20K on a whim to purchase NWC carts?!?  Of course that would make someone feel a bit bitter, someone that works for an honest day's wage.  For all we know Nick took the money he scammed from everyone, invested it in stocks, and is a millionaire by now.  Why wouldn't that make an honest buyer / seller feel bitter?

This thread illustrates exactly why I will never buy a "NWC gold". Any random NWC can become a "NWC gold" with a missing label. Why pay 17K for something that cannot ever possibly be verified as legit?

Sure, it's a legit NWC board, but you can get those for substantially less than 17K. A crappy grey cart sold for $5K (Muresan's copy) not that long ago. A "Myriad" is no longer a myriad without a label, same with this "NWC gold".

Who's to say this Nick Morgan asshole didn't just buy up one of the shitty condition grey carts and a zelda case and parade it around as a "NWC Gold"? I'm almost certain this has happened already.

Putting the fake label on it is even more insulting.

yeah no need to lock this up. keep it open. nick morgan is a top of the class douche bag and while i've never had a problem with the OP, i've known for a long time about you and nicks video game relationship. you can paint this picture any way you like, but i'll paint it as it stands.

Nick was first arrested and fined for faking factory sealed games on digitalpress years ago
Nick paid lots of money, apologized a million times and promised to never do it again.
Nick came here and did a good job communicating and adding to the community.
We openly accepted him, even with the past transgressions... ya know, the whole let bygones be bygones thingy ma-jig.

Nick started stealing from the site. Creating his own affiliate links.
He took it a step further.
He started creating fake section z maps.
I'm almost positive there was more counterfeiting in the mix.
He willingly took from the community for his own benefit.
If you want to talk about character, Nick Morgan has none. Let it be known he is not welcome on our forums and people that openly associate with him do so at their own risk.

Add a fake Gold NWC Label to his resume.

Sorry langenfield, you opened this can of worms. everyone here needs to be privy to who you actually associated with in conjunction with this cart and this bullshit "for your entertainment only" label.

Let bygones be bygones my ass. Not so long as I'm a member and moderate these boards.

Moderators moderate the site.  It's tiring and thankless.  When people get banned for things that don't involve outright theft, they are given many, many chances and warnings.

Nick is the biggest piece of garbage in NA's history (followed closely by Hounder).  He is a thief and a liar and stole from Dain as well as many game collectors in this community and elsewhere.

The HoS was created for people like Nick.  If people choose to associate with known thieves, that's their choice.  The history associated with that individual doesn't go away though, it's on display for everyone to see.

Hmm, bizarre thread. I'm amazed at multiple people valuing a label-less NWC Gold at the $17k-$20k range. Go figure.

I also agree with the other comment mentioned, why not make a small note on the label to designate it as a reproduction? It would be trivial and protect the community at large. There's a long history of people buying stuff that "they will never sell", then it finds its way to market someday...

Personally, I would have taken a screenshot of the NWC game in FCEU, printed it, and used that as my label.

It looks close enough to the original logo, but upon close inspection, it very obviously is not the same.

wow I really feel old reading all this. did I just see mark drop the name (hounder) lmao. good times indeeed people. first off congrats langenfeld! so happy to see you get yourself a gold nwc!! amazing!

I was friends with nick for years before he started scamming everyone. I remember that was really sad to hear when it went down. bringing his name (and photo) back to light was sure to open a can of wormstho. that was to be expected. Kinda leaves a sour taste seeing nick hold a gold nwc that he potentially purchased with stolen money for selling reseals.

either way life goes on, congrats langenfeld on the new nwc.

For sure, the first part of my post was in response to his questioning of Tanooki's ban (people banned for things other than outright theft) and how they receive many warnings.

The rest of my post was in regards to Nick, someone banned under very different circumstances (fraud, funneling money away from Dain, more fraud, back dooring, more fraud, etc.).

For those who support, or are even indifferent, to what Nick has done, HE STOLE FROM DAIN.  Amongst other things, he stole from the very person who created the playground that you hang out in.  Fools...
