I usually suspect some sort of foul play (e.g., shill bidding) when an auction closes at an abnormally high bid. Then again, we're in the midst of a heavy collector's boom, and as we welcome more clueless spenders into the fray, we can expect them to drop exorbitant amounts of money for cartridges most of us got at a bargain. A few years ago, I purchased A Link to the Past online for about $10, manual and map included. I had seen it climb to the $20 mark, but $46 seems a bit too high. The game itself is worth the money, no doubt about it, but given that copies have been selling for less, I would hold out until I found one at a lower price. Also, I'm usually O.K. with purchasing a Player's Choice edition or even "Assembled in Mexico" variant if I can find one for less.
