Hi Fellow Gamers!

My book covering EVERY game for the Nintendo NES, Sega Master System, and Atari 7800 is now available in paperback. You can order it here:

http://www.amazon.com/Classic-Hom...

Sample Pages:

Book Description:

A follow up to 2007's Classic Home Video Games, 1972-1984, this reference work provides detailed descriptions and reviews of every U.S.-released game for the Nintendo NES, the Atari 7800, and the Sega Master System, all of which are considered among the most popular video game systems ever produced. Organized alphabetically by console brand, each chapter includes a description of the game system followed by substantive entries for every game released for that console. Video game entries include publisher/developer data, release year, gameplay information, and, typically, the author's critique. A glossary provides a helpful guide to the classic video game genres and terms referenced throughout the work, and a preface provides a comparison between the modern gaming industry and the industry of the late 1980s. Foreword by Bill Kunkel.

 As always, thanks for reading!

wow... I was skeptical, but just saw the sample pages - great. Love the coverage of the unlicensed games as well. Definitely considering this! Amazon only has 4 in stock, so maybe you should help with that =)

edit: "Only 4 left in stock--order soon (more on the way)."

Question, I don't think Nintendo developed R-Type. It would be IREM.

That page was for Master System, and it clearly said SEGA

Wow, I hope you were just lazy posting this...I got my paperback copies on the 14th of April.
I got both volume 1 and 2...a good read if you are into gaming for our beloved systems. Not sure I am going to pick up the third as I really am not interested in the systems covered. But then again, I can't have 2 and not the third?

"R-Type
Publisher: Sega. Developer: Sega. Side-
Scrolling Shooter, 1 player. 1988.
A phenomenal port of Nintendo's 1987 arcade
game, which helped popularize the sidescrolling
shooter, R-Type for the Master System
even has a secret extra level not found in
the coin-op classic (bringing the total to nine)."
