Awesome Andy!

I'm done. tonight was my last chance at this, work early tomorrow don't get home til well after contest ends, so yeah, I kinda figured as much which is why I put in my score when I did, was pretty uncertain of being able to do any better. No more luck, and my hands aren't cooperating, keep doing worst at the game, so time to call it quits, gotta get to sleep soon, will check in sometime after the contest ends.

Thanks for the invite urging me to play, it was fun. Sad I couldn't even top my own score though, I'd liked to had beaten it at least even by 10 points, but I think I know where I fail this time. Last time I had played out every single game regardless of how it was going, even if I knew my score wasn't going to be any good. First three days this time was a blast, after that I took things too seriously. I put way too much pressure on myself and I think lowered my own luck by constantly resetting every time I didn't get favorable results early on, which ultimately resulted in nothing to show for, but frustration. I wanted to beat myself, I did a good job of it.

I just kept playing through not resetting. I found on the first stage you dont have to jump off the ledge and land on a number to get those points. If you do it right all you have to do is get your marble to spin out of control hitting it at the same time and it picks it up. When I say out of control like when you take a corner too fast. I only did this once. Anyways I got work at 9am. Hope everyone has a great day

WOW! 49 seconds left is awesome man!! That's only 20-25 secs slower then what I normally have, and when you take in to account the time spent when you die you are right in there with the best of us! You need to get the NES version man, I know you will do a lot better on a real system with a real controller.

Just got home from work...

Damn, didn't expect that. Thought I'd be blown away. Highest scores this time were lower than 3 years ago, wonder why it was so difficult. I still say, stupid wands!

Well, I was all pumped up about the contest when it started, but could hardly find some freetime to play during the whole week. I think I only played around 4-5 hours max compared to the solid 20-25 hours I played 3 years ago. In all case, I'm considering recording myself and try to beat the Twingalaxies record in the near future, so we'll see.

Congrats for the win Megan, that's still a great feat!

I hate that I couldn't really throw myself into this like I got to a few years back. Life just kinda got in the way unfortunately this time. Great job Megan!

Damn right, Andy! Next time you just might be a major force to watch out for, I've no doubts on that. You gave it your all and kept on trying, persistence and dedication, I like to see that. And if you see yourself getting better the more you play, all that trying is paying off, your experience points with the game goes up, skill, intelligence, all that good stuff that makes a great gamer. Yeah, be proud of any high score that you achieve, afterall its you who did it, not everyone can make that claim, some people play a game then give up shortly after, "This game is too hard.", or "This game sucks!", or such comments. You kicked ass.

It took me 24 times beating this game back with the last contest before I inched out above your high score. And even after that my score fluctuated terribly, poor one game, good the next, then pathetic score again, only to get another decent one. I finally beat it for the first time without dying on my 125th game, and thereafter all of my scores were always above the hundred thousand mark, and by the time I got to 146th game all of my score stayed above 150 thousand. I played this game a lot! My highest score was the 168th game, at 177,560. I played and beaten Marble Madness those 3 years ago 176 times.

The score I got for this contest 175,330 was on my 212th game, but after that game I only actually finished it a dozen more times out of hundreds of resets, for a grand total of 224 wins against this game. I pushed myself too hard this time, not being new to the game anymore I was striving for better than my past highest scores, also trying to figure out that darn wand, instead I should've just played each game out completely as I had in the past, probably would have come to me easier. Some things you just cannot force, such as randomness.

I missed you Randy, thought for sure I'd come home from work, see your name at the top, and probably either guillavoie or mog in second place, and me either 3rd or 4th. I played really well the first 3 days, after that a couple hours of madness here and there, reset, reset, reset, @#$%! reset! My skills at the game were better this time, which was a plus but also my downfall, I drove myself crazy with trying to figure out a way to get those wands more often and ended up most times getting none. I had to force myself to quit and cross-stitch instead lest I take the game out and toss it across the room.

See what practice andd constant persistance can accomplish. Awesome! Totally happy for you. Put a chain on that marble and turn it into a wrecking ball! Next time this game is up for competition, you could be a force that the top score bearers better watch out for. Very nice improvements on your game.
