I've been wondering when the next installment would appear. Turns out I missed IV, so I got to read two chapters of your fun and insightful critique this time around.

I don't like Sonic either. I could never quite articulate why and you did so very well. Thank you especially for that.

I also did not have Clue growing up and have never played it, so I agree with you there too.

About the difficulty of getting goals in Elite Soccer and Pro Sport Hockey, maybe it makes sense. IRL, both sports frequently have games with both sides scoring under 5. Maybe that doesn't translate well to video games and I could see how it would be boring. But maybe there is a reason behind it, if Jaleco or GameTek can be credited with doing anything intentionally.

Interesting that you commented on the box art for Power Moves. It's definitely odd, and objectively worse than the Japan version in every way. But it kind of struck me in a more positive way. It reminds me of the style in some weird underground 90s comic books. I wonder what else the artist did.

Haha, some funny stuff in there, Brock. Nice write up as usual. Dirt Trax Fx is the only game I would try and defend on the list for being this low. Even you had some good things to write about it. Not the best, but I think a little more deserving than the position you gave it. As you said though, as the rankings go up people will definitely have more to say. I think once you crack the top 300, decisions will become quite a bit more challenging. Always happy to see these pop up. I can't believe you played through an entire hockey season

Thank you for the kind words everyone, deserved or not. I was a lot happier with this installment than I was with volume four.

I should also mention that when I met up with Murray and JamesRobot they both mentioned how much they looked forward to this. Maybe they meant it, or maybe they were just being nice. But it helped keep me on track, since there are many nights where I'm sitting here after playing a hockey game for two hours and I really don't want to muster the energy coming up with something. Someone actually wanting to read all this crap helps keep me focused.

I remember there being an Izzy animated special in which they asked "Iz-zy (is he)going to the Olympic Games?" Well I guess I was a stupid kid because I watched the stupid Olympics telling everyone he was going to be there and he no showed.

Finally caught up to reading this installment today, and I just love it.

As something of a Disney trivia nerd, I feel the need to point out that the Disney film is titled Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, not Dwarves.

Keep it up! You're doing the lord's work here, my friend.

This is the best installment yet now that the games are starting to get good or at least playable or appealing. Kinda sad Tom and Jerry ranked so low, I think it's a surprisingly good platformer.

I've played almost none of these so far so I guess my childhood wasn't awful. I do remember Kawasaki Caribbean Challenge though, gross. No Wordtris yet, hell yeah!

I just checked back into these threads and re-read some of the reviews in my down time and really love them. Any idea when the next installment will be?

Early February is my guess. I took about 6 weeks off after V to recharge.

I have a handful of VI's games written up, another 20 that are partially done and outlined, 4 that will be lumped in with other write ups, 10 games I need to finalize, and I have RPGs I need to work on for installment VII on the side

Reread some of them myself, and had to fix another ten errors, and rewrite a few lines that I didn't like. It's amazing how there is always something. Always.

On a more serious note, I've played EarthBound today for so long, I feel all tense and mentally worn out.
Then you called your mother and felt better?
