So me and a buddy of mine are looking to play some challenging single player adventure/co-op games for SNES or NES. I need some good suggestions! I'm not a huge fan of the beat 'em up games like final fight or captain commando, instead I was looking for games similar to Contra 3 or Spider Man, X-Men: Arcades Revenge (I know, it's single player). Things of that nature. Nothing long and time consuming, just challenging. NES works too, if you can think of any good titles! Hell, I'll even take SEGA suggestions

Gunstar Heroes and Cyborg Justice are good Genesis co-op games.

oh and add Jackal to the good NES co-op titles

If you have any GBA signage or kiosk I would be interested. Please send me a PM because I'm only here about once a month now but I'm still VERY interested in large system signage or small playable kiosks related to the GBA.

Very fun game! And near f'n impossible in co-op. I think I will have to beat it now just so I can say I did... I've been putting it off honestly because it's so frustrating how both players move with one screen from that top-view. I will try again!

The ultimate 2-player challenge would be beating battletoads.

Konami shooters, Super C, Jackal, and Lifeforce, are challenging co-op games for the NES.

River City Ransom is kinda beatem up but the stats increases are fun. Pretty quick for 2 players to finish too.

Turtles in Time is a heck of a lot of fun for 2 players If you want to go to N64 games, I highly recommend Perfect Dark, too. You can either do the story mode together, or team up against an army of sims!

Legend of the Mystical Ninja (SNES)

Kind of a mash up of zelda in the town sections and castlevania in the danger zones. Lots of humor, mini games, and great co-op.

I got a few SNES ideas:
- Pocky & Rocky
- Star Trek Starfleet Academy(it has a 2P space combat battle sim that's fun with 2 people.)
- Sunset Riders
- Final Fight 2 and 3
- King of Dragons
- Secret of Mana if you want to work at it over time
- Mario Kart

So I will definitely have to check out Sunset Riders and River City Ransom. I've only heard good things about these games! I love the Konami games too (Super C looks pretty bad ass). Awesome suggestions thus far, except for Super Tennis, which I feel like was made to teach people how to handle the feeling of failure properly

Super Tennis is actually a really fun game especially when you start winning doubles consistantly. pretty good feeling winning in that game
