Hello everyone and welcome to the latest installment of the Weekly Contests!  I feel the need...the need for speed!!!  Bimmy Earnhardt XXIII here to take you all into the fast lane for your next challenge.  Strap on your helmets, throw on your racing underwear (you know, the ones with the skid marks), and rev up into high gear as you race around the clock to beat out the opposition for the gold trophy in R.C. Pro-Am.  You will have a variety of items to choose from to make life difficult for the other racers, including bombs and missiles (hey, no one said you had to play fair against the other drivers).  Just watch out for rain puddles, oil slicks, and pop-up barriers or you will find yourself eating pavement.  And if you're really lucky, you will find some helpful power-ups, including turbo boosts, car engines, and extra tires to make your racer better than any car that has ever graced the theater screens in a Fast & Furious movie.  I guess I will see you all out on the track...from my rear-view mirror hahaha!  Vroom vroom motherf....sorry, I forgot this is a family-friendly site.  Here's what you need to know about R.C. Pro-Am:
 

• Play until Game Over (Continuing just resets your score, so there's no reason to do it)
• Highest score wins
• Participation: 20,000
• GENRE: Sports

The contest ends Sunday, 6/4/17 at 11 PM NA time.  Your user name MUST be written or typed on a piece of paper and be in the picture for your score to be valid.  The entire TV screen, or computer monitor if you are playing on an emulator, MUST be in the picture for the score to be valid.  No partial screenshots will be considered or accepted.  No screenshots by hitting "print screen" on a computer will be allowed.  You must take a picture of your computer monitor.  There may be instances where this will be acceptable, but it will be at the discretion of myself and the contest organizers.  Also, the use of turbo controllers is forbidden, as well as any cheat codes, Game Genies, slow motion functions, or save states if playing on an emulator.  Also, we will only be using NTSC systems for the contests.  The use of PAL systems will NOT be allowed.  Good luck everyone and have fun

I'm worse at this game than any shooters. My goal is to make participation....I haven't missed a week yet and I need to make up some room on the leaderboard.

I was unable to take a pic as I did not have my perler ready. I gave it another run to get the scoreboard back up. 

Today is my first time playing this. I've played a bunch of times and heven't even been able to reach 10k.

I _hope_ that I can get participation this week.


 

I don't understand how to play this. Even getting 10k is impossible.

EDIT: I'm glad that I didn't buy the cart or I probably would have smashed it already.
 

It is definitely one of the harder games to just pick up and play. It really is just memorizing the tracks and getting a good feel of how to drift the cars. You'll get there. Just takes a bit of practice. 
 

This is definitely one of those games where those who've already been playing for years will be at a huge advantage and noobs will be at a huge disadvantage. I mean, that is usually the case, but this is an extreme instance.
 

I've been playing all morning and my highest score is 10,920.

EDIT: 15,634! I'm slowly getting there!

Well crap, I didn't notice that.

I can move my score and picture to a new post and reserve my original post for the leaderboard if that would help.
 

I had to give this a quick play. Just a participation score for now. I have to say, this game is still just ask cool as it was when I first played it. The sounds of the boosts sometimes making weird and funky noises. Just a fun game overall.  

It's no big deal.

Tried to play this a bit, but I just can't focus.
Too worried about Friday. Maybe next Sunday I will post a participation score.

Reminds me of Mega Tank's advice from last year's Rad Racer contest... "Don't crash."


 

Play some Keystone Kappers instead.
I promise you you will have just so much fun. It is no Seaquest, but it is DARN fun.

 

Atari 2600 Q*Bert is a childhood favorite. I did way better than the previous high score in the Atari thread.
