There's a thread by the site owner explaining how he is moving away from reproductions.

Here's the link:

Put up a WTB thread around here, I'm sure sooner or later someone will have one for sale.

If he's not going to make it, the ROM is out there for the game he uses. Buy a Power Pak from him, load the ROM, and just imagine it's a gimmick from him. Darn close enough.

Is the ROM out there? I know I've never been able to find it.

I dunno, it's under NTSC prototype or something, I've seen it but don't have it on me. Sorry if you can't find it.

Plenty of people say it's out there, but I've never actually looked myself. Good luck! And the Powerpak is a great investment, either way.

I bought a Gimmick repro from NA user Lincoln several months ago. Don't know if he's still doing that or not, but there's one possible avenue...

I was always a little unclear on something. Did the Mr Gimmick Repro's that Retrousb made have support for the extended sound like the famicom version had?

No. It was the USA version of the game. It had sound specifically made for the USA mono NES.

Well, that's somewhat good news, at least I wouldn't need to source the somewhat expensive Batman: Return of the Joker cart to deal with the sound chip.

Any idea what the mapper / board info is? If decide to get one from one of the other repro makers, I'd need to find an appropriate donor board. Thanks.

You still need Batman: Return of the Joker. It uses the same mapper. You just don't need to wire in the sound chip and modify the Nintendo, because the prototype ROM doesn't use the extra sound.

1. (I think) No public dump
2. If one wanted that game on their shelf, having an SD card with it is hardly the same.
3. A PowerPak goes beyond the price of most gifts people give.
4.  For some it's just a bit annoying that people thought it would be back and now it's gone forever.

Mind you, it's ultimately Your/RetroUSB's decision, but there's still plenty of reason to be upset, especially by those who prefer new-part repros.  Either way, it's not like we can be mad.  You've got so many great items you've produced.  That reminds me, I need to check if Battlekid 2 is in stock yet...
