So I'm going to bust my ass every week just to lose to you in the tourney anyways?

I call for a three man Tier 1!

Seems an appropriate time to brag about myself. Ahem... I believe I barely made the last tier 1 tournament, I'm talking the last spot. And I ended up barely sneaking onto the podium (3rd).

The bosses that I always thought were annoying were Jupiter and the Sun.

If you can,try to not use your special shots on anything but bosses. It would be ideal if you could just save them all up and use them on the Sun but sometimes you can get in a pinch or make a wrong move and using them will bail you out.

I for sure save them for bosses and I don't think I will be making it to the sun boss! I'll be happy to crack 500k๐Ÿ˜

I died at the Jupiter boss. I used all my special shots on the shell and didn't have any left for the next form and I got killed.

Whoa, the weirdest thing just happened.  I just got done posting my score for this week's contest...

144,900

...when I was inspired by Guntz to watch tonight's episode of MST3K, the sexy sword and sworcery sequal to the movie Gor, Outlaw of Gor, starring the one and only, Jack Palance...

...I started chowin' down a Key Lime Slime Twinkie...

...then all of a sudden, as Mike and the bots started impersonating Mister Man and Cheese himself, Toxie Fabio,...

"Fabio!... FABIO!... FABIO!... We are FFFABIO!"

I was caught in a NintendoAge cross-dimensional thread feeback loop post!  AAAHHHHHH!

Whoa, the strangest thing just happened...

795,800 (Stage 39)

What a pisser. I would have topped 800k easily had I not missed the very last ship on the last chance stage and given me that notorious 39 total. There was even a blue pod that I could've used to kill it but I didn't get there in time. Whatever. This was a sloppy run for me. I should definitely be able to hit 800k+ next update.

You guys are good. I played for like two hours and only got a bit over 200K. Photobucket's not working right now so can't post just yet but I have room to improve anyways.

The swinging arm boss killed me almost instantly once I got the shell blasted off. That stupid boss is standing in the way of a higher score. It's this game's version of the plane boss from 1943.

Yeah, the shell/swinging arm guy is a bastard. I always die at least once fighting him once the arms are out.

Haha, nah, I'm done.  I know I could get 900,000+ but I just can't invest the time into it

Agreed on the second loop.  I have it paused right now on level 13, and the first boss definitely caught me by suprise with the changed attacks

Good first attempt!  Made it all the way to the final boss and I was really close to finishing it off, but alas!

I left some points on the table here too.  I got 39/40 on FIVE of the Chance Stages and I only got a perfect 40/40 on the very first one.  It got to the point where every time I missed an enemy I knew it would be the only one I wouldn't kill.

Second attempt and game finished!  This was a higher scoring run than last time even subtracting the final boss kill and I'm not sure what I did exactly to bump my score up but I'll take it!

You either got more perfects on the chance stages or completed more combos on the regular stages.

My Gyruss fever can't be contained by a single port. Working on my high score in the Atari 8-bit version. Wish me luck, homies.

Two special shots does him in. Wait until his arms wrap around one way and then start to go the other and catch him when its' core is exposed. Done.

Of course you have to be constantly moving or you are a sitting duck

I did get two perfects instead of one this time.  I also noticed if you are maxed out on phasers then you get 3000 points for each one you grab afterwards.  That probably makes up the difference.  It just didn't feel like I played that much better than the first time, but I suppose I did if the score says so!

Just for fun, here's the playing into loop 2 score:  1,187,000

Made it to level 21, but just kept dying to random stuff
