I couldn't even beat the game on my first try.   Losing missiles in the final stage is a huge setback. I'm just rusty, I'll do better next time. I haven't played Jackal since it last appeared in the contests years ago.

Absolutely. I would say losing them anywhere in 5 or 6 totally blows. Almost have to no death it from 5 onwards. Multi-directional missiles are like this games spread shot. 
 

What really sucks when playing for high score is dying after picking up a bunch of POWs before reaching the helipad. This keeps happening to me on stage 5. All those points lost. If you're going to die then try to do it before picking up POWs or after dropping them off at the helipad.

I lose POWs alot on stage 4 and 5.... Completely loaded down and then lose most of them you picked up. Yeah, sucks.

I'll take it a step further and say getting stuck with the plain missiles in the late game is even worse.  But at least you only have to deal with them for one life.

it's an android, someone showed me how to do it. But the pic itself isn't uploading so I just attached a link through imgur.

If you use the "reply" feature when making your  post there's an attatch file function you could use of it came down too it. I used a site called  Imgbb when I was using an android.

I'll try it but I don't think it'll make a difference.

Two attempts in a row I keep stupidly dying to the stage 3 lasers. I'll try again later.

Haha I was just talking to my baby sweet superjimtendo about Jackyl. Good stuff i'll have to give push comes to shove a spin this week while playing.

I've had cheap deaths from scrolling so close to the edge of the screen that I run right smack into an enemy soldier's bullet that appears out of nowhere. I try to take it slow and continually fire to take out the soldiers as quickly as possible but I still die sometimes. You have to constantly be on your guard against this crap.

Anyway, I seriously doubt that I'm getting 500k this week or even no-deathing the game. Good luck to those who can.
 

I can't say I ever listened to jackal however I have seen them live. As has rich. We saw them together, met them in fact. We had to go to this local country dance club and sell cds for jackal. They had mechanic shirts they bought at thrift stores. Spray painted their logo on the back and sold as official jackal merchandise. They were really nice guys though. A lot of fun.

By the way, there's two spots in the game where farming is possible and so forbidden :

3rd boss : There's a 500 points tank that keeps respawning. Try to destroy that bitch only once.

4th Boss : The parachutes guys are worth 10 points and are infinite. Though it isn't much, don't farm them.

I was almost going to suggest the no point pressing rule so I'm glad you added it.

It's weird that in other boss fights the extra enemies don't give you any points, but they do in those two boss fights.
 

For clarity's sake: I didn't realize there were point farming spots in the game at all. Wasn't really looking for any, I was just being incredibly thorough looking for points. I weaved back and forth left to right on every level, making sure to kill everything. I'm sure it'd not be TOO tough for someone to top my score.

There are some hidden stars in the game that are worth 5000 points when you shoot to reveal them. They're usually easy to find though.
