Hey everyone, just as the titles states.  This thread will be for award announcements and also suggestions for awards the community would like to see.  I'll be working with NA mods MrClutch, Ookii risu and SA mod acomicbookguyc on adding a few more awards to the site.

Q & A:

Question:  I qualify for an award, so how do I get it added?

Answer:
If you qualify for an "Game Series" award, post a picture in this thread:
http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=5&...

If you qualify for a "Kiosk Award" see this thread:  http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=5&...

If you qualify for any other award, pm a mod.  A list of mods and an extended list of awards can be found here:  http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=24&am...

Question #2:  I have an idea for an award, so where do we go from here?

Answer:  Great, you're in the right place.  Post your suggestion in this thread.  We'll take a look at it and see if it's a good fit into our current awards.  Please note that some awards might be a good fit for the site and some might not be, please don't take it personal if your award suggestion does not end up being implemented into the site.  We are working on a time schedule for when new awards will be added.  It may end up being something like four awards once every four months.

Question #3:  I have an idea for the "Game Series" award, post that here?

Answer:  Yep, post your Game Series idea here.  Keep in mind these two things.   First, is it a series that you believe many other NA members would go for, nothing too obscure.  Second, does it have close to 10 unique games in the series or more?

Garage cart is one of the first homebrew carts released for the NES, it was done by Memblers.

Really? We have these not but one for TASVideos? That's dumb, can we add one? I've made a bunch of TASes and I'd love to have it shown on my profile.

Nintendo Hands Free Controller should be worthy of an award.

If anyone is LOOKING for certain repro/homebrews, I have a running repro company thread going as well as a lot of extras myself which include Limited Editions as well.  I'm also free to help answer questions and point people in the right direction so never hesitate to ask!  Here is the current list of repro companies.  Please let me know if I need to update it:

Quick suggestion: Treasure collection.

I know you people might not agree with me on this one since it's not exactly a franchise, but I personally feel like each Treasure game has their own feel and gameplay, despite rarely forming series that go over 2 games (which in my eyes makes them somewhat unique). I'm sure I'm not the only one either as some of their retro titles are incredibly sought after (alien soldier, radiant silvergun etc.)
The games they've developed (or co-developed, which I don't think counts) are listed here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trea...

Also...I'm collecting them at the moment

Other ideas along the same lines are HAL laboratory, Sonic Team and maybe even Rare beforetheygotterrible But the difference between these and Treasure is that Treasure haven't had any long running series they could rely on.

THINK ABOUT IT

Even though I don't own them anymore, I think there should be an award for the StarFox Super Weekend and Donkey Kong Country Competition carts.

I've been trying to craft together either a rental set or blockbuster set. Once I pin down what I think would get a consensus agreement on what the set would be I'll put forth a more "complete" suggestion for it.

I would like a Halo Series Award. There are a ton of extras you can find for this series including Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary which is a HD remake of the original Halo.

Halo: Combat Evolved 2001
Halo 2 2004
Halo 3 2007
Halo Wars 2009
Halo 3: ODST 2009
Halo Reach 2010
Halo 4 2012

Still waiting for a Wizardry series award...hint hint nudge nudge

"It's always amazing to me how some of the most worthless games from a gaming perspective tend to fetch outrageous amounts of money. But then again, it could be said that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I'm curious if the high bidder of the $873.04 Stadium Events (cart-only) realizes that it's nowhere nearly as rare as about 20+ games I can think of that sell for 1/10th that amount?  At any rate, I wanted to draw attention to this trend: if people say it's rare, it must be true, and therefore it must be had at any price."

^^ What he said!! ^^ I know a few of us are dying for this icon. The rarest Nintendo produced accessory and we dont even have an icon. Hell, theres an icon for the Singer IZEK for GBC. Who cares about that thing??

I know its a long shot but how about a Madden series icon? Well over 10 titles and its the greatest selling Sports franchise of all time. I might have a few of them laying around...

TMNT, Simpsons, Halo & Madden should all have series awards. These and many others are either longer running and/or more popular than many of the games that already have awards (Resident Evil, Shining Force, Tomb Raider, etc.)

How so? We have awards for Crash Bandicoot, GTA, Shining Force and Tomb Raider who didn't even start on a Nintendo console. Nintendo Age has expanded from just being a "Nintendo" forum. There are hundreds of forum members who collect for other consoles as well. According to the rules my suggestion follows right into place to receive an award.

I don't nessarily agree with those either.  I can sort of understand when they do have at least one game on a nintendo platform, but I'd prefer them to be known more as nintendo platform franchises.  But halo has none at all unless I'm mistaken. Just seems wrong to me. That's just an opinion. It wouldn't really bother me if it did get an icon.
