So I come across a CL listing advertising that this guy was hording games, computers, old systems the past 20 years and now want all of it gone.  I email him and he calls me back and we spend an hour on the phone.

Come to find out there was lots more stuff that he hadn't got around to even posting on CL yet like 30-40 large boxes full of boxed NES games.  As well as even more boxes full of SNES Games, Genesis Games, etc.

I also missed out on about 1500 Atari games he sold for next to nothing.  I explained to him that he may be sitting on a Gold Mine and then discovered after asking if he also had any electronic games he was going to sell - of course he said, boxes full.  I inquired about whether or not he had an Adventurevision and he has one, boxed with all the games.  He had no idea it was worth anything.

So the bottom line is I am going to be helping him inventory everything so he can get more accurate prices for it.  We are then going to be listing much of it on GameGavel.  He even thinks he has some Nintendo World Championship carts and he has a pretty spot on recollection of what he has even though it has been packed away for years.  He is not looking at giving the stuff away like he originally doing but is not going to gouge anyone either so I think there will be some very good deals coming out of all of this.

I will keep you all posted as this relates to any of the Nintendo items that we may discover going through all this stuff.

I think this guy will have everything. He was buying out store stock back in the day as well as buying all his friends games when they were offloading them back before anyone knew they would ever be worth anything. I will be going through this stuff next week. Can't wait!

Just curious if you attempted to buy any of it initially Mike?

Either way, sounds exciting!

I was mainly interested in the Atari stuff, which again, he already let go for next to nothing.  I can only imagine what he may have had in 1200-1500 games - mostly boxed for the Atari.  I think I might cry

But I asked him about other stuff he might have not have mentioned in the CL ad and that is when I found out he has tons more stuff he just didn't get around to post on CL yet.

He is out of town this week so we are hooking up next week.  I am sitting on pins and needles here

If he can get some good $ for his items and I can get more exposure for GameGavel that would be great.  So there is an ulterior motive.  And I might get some good deals for helping him out

Dude, this is very ethical of you man to not take all this stuff and offer next to nothing for it. Not many people would do what you're doing. I know you are getting a small cut from the sales on GameGavel for each item but sounds like you could have taken this guy to the cleaners if you wanted to and posted everything yourself! Above anything else, this thread really shows your character! I wonder what you would have done if the Atari stuff was still available...

If there are any NES/SNES games you are looking for post it here.  Then before any of this goes up for auction you may have an opportunity just working a deal out with the guy.  After we know what he has I will look back through this "want" list and try and give you all first opportunity before it goes up for auction.  I think there will be some multiples too, so even if someone else here has already listed a game as "wanted" go ahead and post it anyway.

Again, it doesn't sound like this guy is going to kill anyone on pricing as he was just basically giving all this stuff away in the beginning.  So if he can make a fair amount while still offering good deals, I think he may do it.

It is always my goal to try and be middle of the road when it comes to circumstances like this.  I mean, I hate blowing the horn on this guy, and ruining possibly some deals for other local collectors, but at the same time, I hate to see someone get taken to the cleaners.  I had a good conversation with him he is genuinely thankful I brought all this to his attention.  And as I said, compared to what he would have probably got for all of this, before I got involved, he will stand to make significantly much more I think, but still be reasonable on what he expects to get.  We will have to see how this all works out but I hope for everyone here's sake he has loads of rare stuff and will part with it for a reasonable amount of cash.

And I am not charging him anything to list the high dollar stuff on GG.  I just want the exposure for GameGavel and its sellers more than anything

I am sure he does.  He has everything from the early 70's straight through the N64 era he said.  He has Bally Astrocades, Odyssey's, etc. etc.  Loads of Shit.  If you want something, put it in this thread as "wanted" and I will see if I can help distribute some good stuff to all of you

Dude, get real, ha.

If for some reason he has a CIB Captain America and the Avengers for the NES, I would like first shot at it.  Very cool what you're doing!

Hey Man,

He does have a boxed Vex, which I already have.  I am already getting his 3-D imager though.  So I will keep you first in line for any games and the system.
