Hi everyone. Wanted to try my hand at some repros a year or so ago but failed miserably trying to program the chips. Recently the spark came back and my head is all into it again. After fussing arounf with my tsop to willem adapter hacked up out of an old IDE cable, I finally got my M29F032D to ID and program a headerless Earthbound rom via snes purify. I even read the chip back and loaded it into bsnes and it worked fine. The donor board is a Madden '96 with a 16mb mask and 64k sram Hirom. I thought this would be just a simple remove the original mask and droping in the 29F032 and it would work. All I get is a black screen though. So far I've reflowed all the solder joints but that didn't help. I'm kinda at a wall at this point.

The problem is that eproms have a different pinout than mask roms, so this isn't just a simple switching of chips. You're going to have to do some major rewiring, unless you buy those tsop chips that come with adapters. I have no idea where people are getting those though.

I'm using a tsop with an adapter.
