Browsing the new site on my phone and I can't see any way to start a new thread. Am I missing something? Where should the button be, because no matter where I look I can't see anything.

Click on the "Tabs Menu" and then "New Topic" when you're inside a category.

I'm actually having a problem with this on my computer. I can't seem to figure out how to start a new topic anymore? I don't see this anywhere.

And I do have a "new topic" button but when I click it there is no way for me to add anything anywhere or submit it. Just FYI.

I'm actually having the same problem both on my computer and phone, regardless of what computer or browser I try to make a new topic on, and I've made topics before so navigating to it isn't the issue.

Having the same issue... Popup window with no text editor. Using Google Chrome on Win7 desktop.

Yeah it seems like this is broken on mobile and desktop at the moment. It was working when I answered above so maybe Dain is behind the scenes working on an update.

Thought I was going crazy. Having same issue with Firefox 32.0.

32.0 was released in September 2014... you should really upgrade
 

Yeah, its on a Linux box that I don't normally use. Not worth the effort to upgrade since it is all manual.

 

Thus why you only install software from OS repos or PPA's that update regularly but I understand.
 

It came with Ice Weasel, but it sorely lacked features and didn't support many of the add-ons that I wanted to use.

vintage site works, so at least I can work around it.

I just assumed that old browsers were just being phased out on the site.

Had a user PM me last night asking how to start a topic, talking about this same issue. Does appear to be a bug in the system.

Yeah something is up in the new site. You can use vintage.NintendoAge.com to start new topics until Dain has a chance to fix.

I'm sorry to post in such an old thread, and I'm sure that I'm just missing something, but I can't seem to post a new topic on my iPhone. I don't see a way to do it anywhere. Again, I apologize for the ignorance and the likely misplaced post. I have been here a year but haven't really used it since I joined because I got out of collecting for a while.

Nevermind. It seems to be working now. That was very strange.

Youu hve to go into the specific forum sub-category you want to make the thread ie: gamers gauntlet. Then at the top there is a tab menu that drops down. Use that and look for "new topic"
 

I did that. It just didn't work. It does now though. I opened a new "tab," and it worked all of a sudden.

While I'm here I'd like to complain about replying in quotes on the iphone. When I quote someone and click on the text box often my screen will bring me to the top while typing so I can not read my message. It makes me not want to quote/reply because it is incredibly annoying.

This is why I hate all this BS that a forum doesn't need. All it does is screw things up! There should not be pop-up dialogs AT ALL. I should be able to find Advanced Search from ANY list of topics. I should be able to delete a quote from a quote tree with a mobile device without editing HTML. All those useless rich text and image buttons should be GONE. I should be able to link to a particular point in a YouTube video without the forum ruining my link and embedding a video that starts from the beginning. Ugh!

What was the fix???

Are you asking about starting a thread from the mobile site? If so, the new topic option is available by going to a specific category in the forum and opening the "tabs menu" drop down near the top.
