Took a day off from NA yesterday to spend the day with my girlfriend (was our 1 year anniversary) and it looks like there's a lot I need to address. Here we go:

- There have been some issues this week with some of the scores and I want to reiterate that if your entire screen, whether it be your TV or computer, is not in the picture, the score will NOT count. I don't want to sound like a dick when it comes to this, but the rules are very explicit and will be enforced. Vectrex, your score of 338,900 will not be allowed. Your score of 324,600 will count.

- I've allowed the use of emulators so that people who do not own the games have the chance to play them in the weekly contests. After everything that has happened this week, I'm going to consider making them forbidden simply because of the argument that was started. Yes, it is very easy to cheat with an emulator. Does that mean everyone who is using an emulator is instantly cheating? No. However, given a lot of the circumstances and debate pertaining to some of the scores this week, I am going to consider banning emulators. Will this hurt participation? It probably will and I would hate for it to come to that, but if we are going to have arguments every time someone who is using an emulator posts a score, the contests are going to fall apart. In the event that I ban emulators, I will make a schedule of the upcoming games so that everyone has a chance to get the game if they wish to participate.

- This is not how I wanted to start off the first random prize week and this is exactly what I was afraid was going to happen. As a result, and I did mention this in the first post, all random prize contests will not be announced prior to the start of the contest. They will be announced at the end after the contest has wrapped up. If problems continue to persist, the random prize drawings will be eliminated.

-------------------------

My NES collection count: 757 games (16 to go for a full set)

Latest Purchase(s): Snow Brothers

"Wait...Bimmy and Jimmy??  How'd they make a mistake like this!?  Bimmy isn't even a real name!"

Beware the Bimmy Marsh!

This is where I'll put my score...
With only a couple hours left it will be a low participation score, but oh well!

I really wanted to impress you all with a sick last minute score, but this was my best. I would come close many times and then die amataurishly.

I am searching for the following SNES manuals:
- Sunset Riders    - TMNT IV: Turtles in Time      - Total Carnage
- Utopia                 - Final Fantasy II
Please PM me if you have one or all of them for sale. While I like nice condition, I am interested in anything 7/10ish up.

Thanks. I'm actually not very good at this game. You can pick up more points if you jump over a barrel as it goes down a ladder. Instead of the usual 100 points for a barrel, I have got 3000 points per barrel as it goes down a ladder. So basically I go to the top right most ladder and jump over barrels as they go down the ladder below me til time almost runs out and then finish the level.

Bah, I broke my old score (by about 4,000) and was set to go an a terror, but died jumping for the hammer on level four barrel level. I feel down the side. Why can't Mario handle that fall?!

I think that's all she wrote.

Bleh. Did not have as much time to give this game as I wanted to. It's probably sacriledge to say I have not played this before, but it's true.. (I only recently found an arcade that has it. ) Still, I had a great time with it and I may track down a an actual copy of the game. (Which shouldn't be too hard. I have no idea why this isn't in my collection as I'll generally try anything that's been in the arcades at least once!) Apologies for the photo quality, in advance.

Yup, make sure you are standing in the right spot though or you will only get the usual 100 points and if that happens just slightly adjust where you are standing. Also, it helps to do a second jump right after you land to"jump" the barrel again for more points

Yeah, it sucks I had not figure this trick by myself. I knew it was possible to boost points with barrel over a ladder, but I totally forgot to found a way to do it constantly. I was so obsessed with that damn spring that it slipped my mind.

You can also get 300 points for jumping a barrel while running the same direction it is moving.
Probably not worth the risk but it is a way to maximize points!
