I do apologize, I know someone posted the link to this while it was up for sale, but I can't find the thread.

This is the eBay auction for the NES with a handful of games and a sob story about living check to check.  It was listed at $35,000.  Someone just bought it for $50,000.

http://cgi.ebay.com/original-Nint...

My first thoughts: I wonder if the buyer is going to follow through with payment...?

That's crazy. I remember seeing that listing months ago and thought for sure no one would buy it. You're right though, there's a huge difference between clicking BIN and actually following through with the payment...

If you look at his past feedback, he's been selling NES stuff for a while now.

Are you sure? The last 2 feedback as a seller, he/she sold tickets, and the oldest feedback of these 2 feedbacks is from 2007.

Wow... Well, I know what I'm doing this week.
This is easier than trying to make a grilled cheese look like a religious figure or a potato chip to look like a state.

He (the guy who spent $330,000) probably made some money on his purchase. It seems that people could pay him to use the virtual space station that he bought. But ye, i doubt that he made back his $330,000 yet and i am not sure that he ever will, so he probably lost quite some money on it indeed.

eBay would get $50 from it, IIRC. PayPal, on the other hand, would get somewhere between $950 and $1,450, depending on what percentage they choose to take from him due to his past selling habits (or PayPal caps it at some amount that I can't seem to locate on their website).

Since this is relisted, if it's bought again I think eBay would waive the previous fees. lol
