Hey guys,

So Al said he had some stuff that he wanted me to bring down to the Expo. Of course, I'm more than happy to be the pack-muel on this kind of cool-ass stuff. I went to his work yesterday to pick up an entire box of Sudoku stuff, I think, everything he had left from when he made the game.

I'm not 100% sure what I'm going to do with it all. Al said he would like some of it given away as the prizes for the NWC contest. But he said that whatever I want to do is up to me (such a nice guy). I'd like to hold an auction for one of these things... I don't know, I'll have to mull it over in my head for the next week

Check the pics in the next post!

one of the coolest and most significant protos IMO. This will go big. Also, another gold cart in collector's hands = good news.

Thanks for the prize donations, Al and Will, we'll put them to very good use.

Okay, is there some sort of 'phone bidder' possibility at the AGE auction?  Seriously.

Heh, the prototype copy IS different, too. Not sure how different, but I know one thing: my name is spelled incorrectly in the Credits

Edit - Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention... if anything does get auctioned off, whatever it generates will go to NA

I want the proto and the concept cart...no, really, I do. But I *highly* doubt I have the NWC skills to win them in a contest, or the cash to win them at auction unless they go cheap :/ ...

Again... not sure what I'm going to do with it yet. There's so much potential
I'll likely be handing out stickers to random people as I talk to them. I'd like to do something a little bit more cool than that with the other stuff.

I kept track of the changes as part of my "work items" list.

The things I found and fixed between proto1 and proto 2 are:

1) Title Screen (select puzzle) switched with Random

2) Title screen scroll glitch

3) Instructions seem too far aligned to the right.

4) Pause Screen needs to be up and to the left

5) Hard to visualize the 3x3 areas.  Need the pattern table to be revised.

6) The difficulty field is set to EASY for all boards.  The actual value needs
needs to be determined for each.

7) None of the boards are actually easy. I need to regenerate a mixture

The things I fixed after Proto 2 (so all these bugs are in proto 1 as well), based on Will's feedback were:

1) Fixed mis-spelling of Will's name on credits screen

2) Will found that sometimes the sprites disappear (including the timer) when
the board is completed (and evaluated)

And after the greys/golds and first batch of blues were released, bunnyboy helped me to discover that I shouldnt have been using color palette value 0x0D.  So that bug is in there as well, meaning it will glitch like crazy on some TVs.

Udisi, are you going to the expo?

Al

He's not, but he said he's going to have somebody trying to get some of the stuff (if something goes to auction)
