Cool.  Good to know.

I just thought it was funny that it happened.  The chances of this happening by accident are extremely low, since you have to get the letters in order.  That order is usually made inconvenient by making you run all over the screen to get them.  Plus, it's usually more points to avoid them, since their locations are often part of chain reactions that you can do with the bombs.

Yeah, normally, you should not get the right order if you're trying to suck the most points out of stage, or even to clear it as fast as possible. I almost got them all in one stage (20ish), I was at 'MAR' and started to laugh thinking I might get the 'I' before the 'O'.

Is there a way to get out of a barrel in this game or am I trapped forever?

Years later for me, similar result.  Reached Level 74, just like on my Twin Galaxies run.  Points were lower though because I got here with men in reserve this time.  Hate this level!

Many never played this game seriously. Once you get into it, and try to score high, you understand how much complex and well made it is.

Do the games in the contests repeat themselves often? If so I might have to pick up a copy of this game in case it comes up in the rotation again.

We've begun repeating games over the past two years, so it's possible Wrecking Crew could come up again in the future.

I didn't have a lot of time for Wrecking Crew this week, so this was my only attempt.

Nothing impressive, but still not bad. I wish I had more free time this week to play cause I really love this game. Too bad it's already over

On a side note, I'm a bit disappointed by Tom's score, I thought that he would, at the least, beat his twingalaxies score

Congratulations to rdrunner on being the winner of Block 1 and earning the first spot in the tournament later this year. And a big thanks to everyone who participated in Block 1. Everyone put forth a great effort and there were some very impressive scores submitted over the past six weeks. We will be taking a week break to finalize rules and games for Block 2, which will start on Sunday, March 4. The leaderboard will be reset and everyone will start off with a clean slate and someone new will earn the second spot in the tournament.

I almost had it this time.  I practiced Level 74 really hard, but you need to have perfect timing to survive it and I just screwed it up.  I really think I could marathon this game, even on 5 men, if not for this one level and just an overall lack of patience (I tend to get blindsided by fireballs when I go too fast).  Oh well.

Nice scores, everyone!  This one's not easy to learn.
