Wikipedia has so much information and is so successful because anybody can add to it at any time. What if you gave every single game a Wiki-type page, where anybody can add whatever information to it they want? Good idea? Bad idea? Too much work involved?

I think I'd rather have the process that we currently have. Someone can bring new information up with some proof, and an admin can edit the database. It just gets hard when you have too many hands in the pot so to speak. Wikipedia is a mess a lot of the time, and I'd hate to see that happen here.

We talked about this before. Way to hard to control and manage. If a member gets mad then they could go on a rampage and reek havoc. The current process may change a little with the new upgrade for user submitted pics upon admin approval, but a wiki isn't going to happen afaik ever.

NA was actually built using Wiki originally (not released), but after much though, I felt this could backfire, badly. I absolutely love the idea of people being able to edit game pages, and we will be granting a quite a few more users the ability to do this. Like it or not, there are way too many weenies out there to trust with this level of access. The reason it works on Wikipedia is because they have literally thousands of editors willing to take the time to ensure data isn't bogus. We have a hard enough time getting help as it is

If you ever need any help with anything for this site, give me a shout.  I'd be more than willing to lend a helping hand to my favorite NES site.

I appreciate that Jared -- there will be a quite a few things we'll need help with almost immediately after we release the converted database. There are more holes than Swiss cheese that we could use help filling in.
