I thought I was an overpacker, that thing could have survived a nuclear explosion. -zeldaboy
This is the idea. Just something like a normal arcade, however the monitor portion would just be a flat screen tv crt (I already purchased). I would then run some video cables down to a home receiver (I already purchased). The audio will be connected to maybe a 15" sub mounted in a box on the bottom of the cab pointing at floor. It will also have 4 tweeters on top of the cab abover tv/monitor.
Inside the cabinet will have all the game systems hooked up to switch boxes. Not sure about side art, maybe do decals or if I can do it cut designs directly into the wood, this would take out venting holes. The arcade sticks mounting portion would be like a recessed chamber that each systems sticks would sit inside (easy to swap out).
I was going to build this over summer (a few months ago) then I lost my job. So it got put on hold, now I have a wedding to plan for and xmas and what not so it will probably be on hold till next summer. :-(

Eh... if it's been shopped and works well $1200 isn't a bad price. Right in the average range. There is one listed near me for $1500 although I've seen them go for $800 - $1000 too. With pins, for me, I would be willing to pay more knowing the source it is coming from and who has done the work on it.
