Hey guys!
This weeks game is Stinger!
Heres the rules!
1 life
no continues
no cheats/passwords
no extra lives
take picture as soon as you die (there is no life counter, so we're going on honesty here)
minimum participation score = 100,000

Good luck everyone!!

Jeremy

Is this one of those games where you have to be fast taking a picture? And I heard this is a fun game, I'm glad I finally get to play it.

Does this game never end?

And do anybody know if the famicom version have any difference with the NTSC version?
If there's no difference, anybody have something against playing the game on a multicart?

Well, count me out for sure unless I end up having access to my NES, maybe I will later in the week, not sure if I'll get a chance to play though. Tried playing this one on emulator last week actually, just a random choice among a couple other games while I was bored one day, couldn't even get through the first stage, though I have beaten it on my NES years ago, not too hard, but shmups are impossible using keyboard keys, I crash into everything, lucky if I can even last a few minutes before losing all of my lives.

I guess I'll start up with this. Very little learning curve, and a fun little shooter.

I don't know much about this game, but this sounds like a good start Deniz. Right?

Haha, I have no idea how good of a score that is. It was only the beginning of the second level where I died. I mean, I went way over the necessary 100K, but it wasn't nearly as hard as breaking the 40K needed in AI3.

I'm guessing turbo is a no-no?
Perhaps it should be added to the rules in the initial post if so, just to clarify.

Forbidding turbo controller is actually a basic rule of the 2010 contest, but maybe it is a good idea to specify it for certain games.

I'll definitely be giving Stinger a try sometime this week.  Haven't played it in a while, though.

My NES collection count: 757 games (16 to go for a full set)

A PS2 controller (instead of keyboard)on an emulator is ok, as long as no turbo is used, right ?

Don't know if there is a difference between famicom and US release, but I can tell you many games on multi carts are altered, so just because the famicom and US release are the same, doesnt mean, the one on your multicart will even be the same as the famicom release. My opinion is, just for the sake of it, stick to the US one.

Does the score counter hit 1 million or roll over? If we've got 700k on the first night, this could end pretty quickly...

It has an end. (But after the credits you can press start to continue into "hard mode")

3,551,300...!

First sit down. 500,000. Took a little to get used to the.....pase of the game? Now it's on!

Yaaa! I've always liked this one. Not saying I'm great at it at all. Just a funky game I have always enjoyed. There is an end. I love the bosses. A boombox a watermellon. Come on thats awesome. I will definitly be posting some scores for this one.

 1st over a million 1st to flip!!!

I got lucky on stage 6 or 8. I ran out of shield and my arms where gone. So I knew I was gonna die or get another shield. It isn't easy  to get the shield. Well I got it. When the boss battles would begin I would turn my camera on. After I flipped it I knew I was gonna have a good score. Becuase level 1, 2, 3 are just points. I died here on the Ice level. Becuase these bouncy things come at you from every side and I don't think you can kill them. They just ran me over.

This is a fun game and the 2nd in the Twin Bee series. It's a shame the 3rd Twin Bee wasn't released in North America. Stinger probably didn't sell very well.

I know the famicom version allows 3 players, but I don't know if there are any other differences

Edit: The famicom version also has difficulty settings, so it is probably a bit different.

I really didnt like this game very much. The powerup system is very silly. I dont see myself putting any more time into this one this week.
