I know i mentioned it somewhere within the last week that I let a top loader at the local swap meet go, but I went back again today and guess what still there, and now it's not and I got it for $40!  I also got the 9 games in the pic for $20 too and they're in alright shape as well.

The top loader as you can see came with the box, not in the best shape but also not torn anywhere either, but no books or that styrofoam junk either.  The system has a few minor rubs to the plastic where that rough texture got smooth, but it's few, and no stains/marks and I'd say it's a good 8.5/9 quality (my old one I had some years ago was slightly worse a good 8.  The pad itself is nice, but it does have a few little dents, I'd almost say bite marks but it would have to be some toothless hillbilly as there's no obvious bite pattern but there's 6 back 1 on front.  All the cables came with it too and they're in good shape.

The games are Air Fortress, Blades of Steel, Ikari Warriors2, Little Mermaid, Mighty Bomb Jack, Millipede, Mission Impossible, NARC, and Yoshi.

I'm curious, any guesses how well I did on the top loader (like real value?)  I don't intend to resell it, keeping it on my crt in the bedroom and shelving my second 'toaster' for parts on my 25 year old test launch deck as it's an old fart these days.

Not sure of the value, the box is a bit beat up but good find either way. Since it's staying in your collection value isn't as important.

The box looks good to me! Can't go wrong with a toploader + games for $40, even without the box. Nice find man.

Check out this really awesome WTB thread that I found, I heard this guy wants games at the cheapest rate possible!  Now on the look out for Unlicensed NES!

Yeah the box has worn edges as you can see, but nothing ripped so it's still solid. I doubt I'll part with it as I like the thing and miss my old one from a few years ago. I still wish it didn't get those weird bars vertically, something with the cheap rf only ppu perhaps.

Tough luck. I didn't know the toploader had issues with the display. I have never owned one, always wanted it though

The worn edges are not too bad - the only boxed NES I have is a sports set with cracked stro and a warped box with some strange brown stain all across the back.

EDIT: Good games too, in my opinion

I don't own any of the ones in that picture. I used to play Little Mermaid as a kid and loved it, but it disappeared.  Same story with Yoshi.  I'd like to buy them again someday.

I tried the Little Mermaid out on a whim around a week ago on an emulator figuring it some girly game. It's not. It's harder than some of those Disney games for sure, above Duck Tales and Rescue Rangers for sure which really stunned me as I was thinking Barbie stupidity stereotypical girl game mentality would be applied.

It's not bad and it doesn't get in the way so I don't consider it tough luck, but hell if it's something so simple as shielding the PPU I'd look into it sorta like how the old NES has that metal sheet screwed over the pins/zero force area of the deck.

I'm thinking I may display it in the entertainment room if I can find a tactful way to put it on the top shelf where I keep all my games lined up (tv is in a closet I removed the doors for so that 'shelf' is all that remains as the bar is out too. At the moment it's in the closet, probably go out later on or tomorrow.

Thanks for the 'nice find' too.  That thing came out in 1993 and I had been kicking myself for being a dumbass and never buying it for the year it was out there on the market.  I remember they were like $100 and when they were clearing them out 1/2 that at Toys R Us.  It wasn't until like I think 4-5 years ago I got one, but then stupidly sold it off for a small profit (last one oddly I got for $40 too, sold for $50) and regretted it again since.  That's why I'm not seeing myself part with this one, and it's in slightly nicer shape and yeah that box too.

If you want the vertical lines issue fixed you can mod it to boost the clean up the video, but it is difficult.. too much for me in fact, someone here was kind enough to mod mine for me.

Just out of curiosity what is the average cost to have one modded? I had my Neo Geo modded for S-Video and it is friggin sweet.

Thanks! I hear modding is almost as bad price wise as buying, though I got a deal so I'm sure mod would be more than my buy price.

By the way just nailed down a 2nd dogbone pad for $10 today (and Adventure Island 3 for another $10!)

I probably will tomorrow end up making a swap meet post if I get up and hit the swap meet as I tend to do, but I got damn well lucky into an interesting pick up on not just the NES but also the SNES front today.  I traded this dude CODMW2 PS3 and MGS PSP which sucked, and bored of in that order, plus threw down an added $25 for the stand alone snes game below+that unlicensed NES game(black cart that looks funny.)

For starters wow really!  Mario Paint complete in box mouse even has the red cap thingy, and then Final Fantasy III which I needed:

Then the NES games, yes that's a really f'd up AVE cart of F-15 City War.  The $25 I specifically put out was for FF3 and he threw that one in with it.  The other games I think you can read what they are.  A few have some aged plastic color change in a spot here or there, and the Joust was rough I cleaned it up a bunch but the back label is just shot yellow and rippy a bit in the middle left.

All things considered I think I did pretty damn good for myself today!

Dogbone NES 2 style controller just has one little double divet in the front left bottom face area and just slight rubbing to the bottom plate a bit.  And then Adventure Island 3 loose cart, top shape...combined $20.($10 a piece)

I'm not sure what a good shape dogbone goes for but i think AI3 is worth around 23 according to the new price list from the other day.

I'd post an image, wife out of town w/camera.

(9/25 -- Found a nearly new NES Advantage for $5, was pretty dirty, still had plastic wrap on the plate around the buttons.)

I had $18 on me (costs $2 to get into the flea) and I scored big time. Cheesy

1) Lightly or never used boxed up copies of Warcraft III and the Frozen Throne addon for PC
2) NES-Maniac Mansion
3) NES-Battletoads
4) NES-California Games
5) NES-Xenophobe

6) Thrown in on the side, old NES Control Deck manual. The 'expensive' of the lot was MM and BT for NES at $5 a piece, but they're valued over $10 on average, the rest of the stuff was $3 for the PC games together and $3 for CG and $2 for Xenophobe. I looked up the NA valuation list and I appear to have paid about 1/2 the going rate or slightly less than that on the 4 games so I'm happy. Maniac Mansion and Battletoads were nice grabs in great shape too.

Well...in the end it averages to $4.80 a game (10 so $48) and while it's nothing rare obviously, I looked up the going rate on these and I did pretty well regardless had I tried here piecemeal or via ebay so I'm happy. I really was stunned to see my(not literally) old DBZ game and I also missed having Out of This World (pc game owned) around, oh and NBA Jam was a whim just because I like it but not $50-60 like it in HD. Most these I used to own for the most part, Monopoly I didn't and Jerryboy/Smartball I tried at a game shop ages ago and liked but never did get so better late than never. I just hope I can get the rest of the damn marker off it as it was all over and had like 10 stickers too. :\

I got some nice surprises coming during the week SNES based I'm happy with.

Yeah I have. I had it some years ago, part of that 'collection' I once had I've gone off sadly about losing so much of. It's the only great 'fighter' of the lot on the SNES, best balance and modes.

Wow. I haven't played this DBZ game, but you're snubbing SF2T, and that shocks me. I'd be curious to give the game a try, though.

No I'm snubbing 3 other DBZ fighters. I said 'fighters of the lot' as in reference to that. DZBSB2 though is seriously fantastic. It's not super vibrant on the colors, but it more than makes up with a large balance of unique characters the others lack, balanced controls, and a shit ton of configurability with life, damage, area, people, music, etc. There's 1P story I can't read, 1p vp Cp, 1 on 1, tournament with up to 8 (filled by cpu if need be) and more too. It's solid.
