The scores will likely be lower because the 1up trick is forbidden for the Tournament, where a big chunk of the points can be earned. I'm sure we'll be completely impressed with some socres done even with that rule though, it will certainly be interesting.
The master of SMB in NA history is 2Legit29Bit, he did 1,844,700 in 2012, Robin Mihara actually asked him for video proof when he saw his score, lol.
Fun fact, the 2012 SMB contest was the first entry of Tom Votava in NA contest
I'm not sure what the 1 up trick is, so I guess my 2016 score would qualify by tournament rules. I was just happy to beat the game on 1 life and score over a million points. If I saw that 1.84 million score, I'm not sure that I would have been able to believe my eyes either!
