Just finished an entire playthrough of the game in PAL mode and I'm pretty happy with it as well. I've adjusted the music so that it sounds more like the NTSC version though, and I find it actually gives the illusion of the game being a bit quicker even without altering the physics. I did notice there were a few instances of slowdown/status bar scroll flicker in later levels when I had too many enemies on the screen. This doesn't happen in NTSC mode. I'm guessing it has to do with the PAL NES having a slightly slower CPU. Anyway, it only happened 4 or 5 times and the easy fix removing an easily-defeated enemy here and there. No big deal. The final boss had a fair amount of slowdown as well but I figured out an acceptable workaround for that as well that I'm happy with.

I do think the PAL version is slightly easier because of the speed, but in later levels it's still pretty tough. I actually have a death counter baked into the password system in the final game. It keeps track even if you get a game over and hit continue as well, but you never actually see it on screen until the ending. Adds a little replay value, especially to those tricky stages in the later half of the game!

No, frames are longer on PAL system so there shouldn't be slowdowns if everything run fine on NTSC.

Hmm, strange. Not sure what could be causing it then. Maybe it's an emulation issue? Either way, I got it working with minimal sacrifice.

This game is fantastic!  It is a great concept with great execution.

It reminds me of Adventures of Lolo, but better. The puzzles are challenging yet fun.  The graphics are pleasing and the music is good. I was really impressed with the balance in character attributes and how they contribute to gameplay.  I would have preferred if ducking under bricks protected you from whatever the flying objects drops out of the sky in Level 7, but that's a really minor complaint!

Thanks for the feedback! Achieving good balance was actually a surprisingly tricky thing to pull off with two playable characters. Glad to see that you like it!

Also, now that the game is fully funded, I've posted the first stretch goal. Let me know what you think!

I own an Everdrive so I would prefer having a ROM instead of the PC game; if you get the PC version does it include a ROM somewhere that I could put in my Everdrive, or is it a full PC application and there will be no way to do it?

Looks pretty cool. I'll definitely think about getting on board with this one.

Hit my second stretch goal today! This site continues to be a huge source of support for me, second only to Facebook. Thanks so much!

This brings me to a question... now what? Anyone who has run a Kickstarter campaign before... How important are more stretch goals? Honestly, the most exciting thing to me is getting the game out there. I'm not sure how much enthusiasm stretch goals really add. Is this something I should worry about? Should I ask backers what they want to see? Just looking for some advice I guess.

I've redesigned the title screen: old on the left, new on the right. I think it looks quite a bit better now. Thoughts?

Simple, clean, and appealing to the eye.

Well Done!

I personally like this new version better than the previous one.

You could perhaps also try to invert blue and black to see the result, but likely this combination that you posted here above (i.e. blue under "eskimo bob" text, and black below, in the background of top and bottom part of the screen) is the best looking one anyways.

I think that this starting screen is really nicely looking and appealing now!

[By the way: I think that it is a smart idea to propose both PAL and NTSC versions of the game (it is this confirmed?); this is not the first case of course, however, I wonder if perhaps, in future, such path, which could be an interesting way to increase a bit the marketability of these projects, will become more popular, or kind of a default strategy].

Thanks again for the feedback, glad you like it! The PAL version of the game is complete. I've played through it from start to end multiple times and the speed difference is barely noticeable with the timing and music adjustments in place.

For anyone interested, I've posted a new gameplay video captured from the PC version of the game, ported using GGVm! The Kickstarter is still live until Thursday. Thanks to everyone for the great support so far!

Just posted a video comparing how Eskimo Bob looks using some popular systems, as well as the Steam version. Retron HD is kind of off looking/sounding but playable. Retron 5 is a straight up fail.
