I tried the boat once and that was plenty. It's so much more difficult that the driving. Does anyone know if there are more points to be had using the boat ?

One boat is 200, the other is 500. Otherwise, it's the same. You also can't get any additional weapons, though you should keep any you have from the car stages.

I am so old that if I was any fertile, right now I would be a family woman with a 14 years old kid and a 13 years old kid.
Blessed be toxoplasmosis for making my body all weird when mum was pregnant of me. Being a family woman with kids would be a major nightmare.

There is a very easy way to settle this.
Tell them that whoever of the two that can do one set of 100 push ups faster is the best lip syncer of all times between the two of them.

When the game starts, go as fast as you can during the grace period so that you can get 10k before the timer runs out and a 1up. You want to take it slow after that, only speeding up when you're forced to outrun enemy cars (the dark blue ones, as Tulpa pointed out).

And while it's tempting to hold the fire button and shoot everything in sight, don't. You get penalized with temporary score freezes when you kill non-enemy cars and motorcycles.
