Possible Comanche SNES prototype? Could this be a Comanche prototype?

I recently got ahold of a couple of protype carts and one sparked my interest.

Unfortunately I haven't tested the cart yet since my SNES being "borked" but could this cart be the the "Comanche" game mentioned here http://www.snescentral.com/articl... and seen here

Pretty bad ass find man, the voxel graphics were very impressive on the demos. I'd be extremely surprised if this one ever got finished, but it's great to know that it's still preserved.

What were the other protos you came across?

I don't remember if this part ever made it into the e-zine interview I did with Tom Kristensen, but the following is a short blurb about his time in Product Acquisition and Development with Nintendo:

Sometimes games were completed but never released. SNES Comanche was one of those. At the time, I thought it was pretty weird to go through all that work and spend all that money, only to shelve it forever. Later in life, when I worked at Kemco, and we released Batman: Dark Tomorrow, I wish we had pulled a Comanche and never released BDT. But NOA/NCL had much deeper pockets than Kemco, and could afford to eat a few titles. Kemco, not so much...

Neat, I have never seen a Super FX prototype board like that. If you look at the board for Powerslide, it fits on a regular board. Does it have a GSU-2 Super FX chip? It would be neat to see this in action, as the videos I have showed a pretty smooth 3D environment. Exciting find!

well bad news and good news I suppose

bad news first. the game isn't Comanche unfortunately

good news their is a game on the board and that game is.... the NTSC version of Winter Gold that isn't called Winter Gold.
