Thanks bert, your not lookin to shabby yourself.  I'm gonna try again later tonight... If I can just nail down a halfway decent second period I think I should be able to hit 70.

Hit 75!  Scored 6 goals in the last minute 13.  I don't know how anyone else...the other two of you...are getting high scores, but I'll assist you if you need help.
 

I finally did it after playing since 10:00 this morning. I'm sure BriGuy is going to make a comeback, but I'm happy with actually hitting the 70 goal mark.

Ugh, 9 -> 27 is such an uphill climb for going up a spot I'll give it a few more goes but I think I'm stuck in my score range.

I took a peek at Batman Returns, a game I picked up but never played. I'm shocked that it's not like the original or ROTJ... next week should be interesting!

I'm with you, buddy. I don't see how I'm going to do better than last LOL... even if I find my stride, I don't see how I can quickly get up to speed and get 27+ points in the next day. Still, this is a great game. It shows how simple, yet complex some of the early NES games can be. I love the "black box" feel of this game as well. It plays like an early console classic.

I think I'm playing against the Canadian team that has Patrick Roy. 

We played Batman Returns back in 2013 too (I'm seeing a pattern this half ). It's a fairly difficult game. I think I was the only one that beat it, but we had a pretty low turnout that week. It's really fun, so hopefully more people give it a try this time.

This is actually one of the games I owned as a kid, so who knows how many hours I've sunk into playing it over the years. Still can't come close to 60, though.

Just as a quick refresher, here is the official rules for posting your scores.

Posting Scores

- In order to submit a score for the contest, take a picture of your score with your user name written or typed on a piece of paper, which must be present in the picture. Your user name MUST be in the picture or the score will be invalid.
- The entire TV screen, or computer monitor if you are playing on an emulator, MUST be in the picture for the score to be valid. No partial screenshots will be considered or accepted. No screenshots by hitting "print screen" on a computer will be allowed. You must take a picture of your computer monitor. There may be instances where this will be acceptable, but it will be at the discretion of myself and the contest organizers.
- Old scores from past contests are not acceptable as submissions. You must play the game during the week it has been selected for the contests. Anyone suspected as passing off an old score as a new one will have their score disqualified and asked to resubmit a new one.
- When posting a new score, please begin your post by typing out your score. Larger font (18pt) is preferred.

I went with a modified "Mario" line up (the big guys look like Mario to me).  Three Mario's and one skinnygrinny (you're welcome)   I certainly had a more aggressive team and more shots on goal. Lots of puck stealing!

Oh, and my strategy involved getting one pass in after the faceoff.  The goalie moves out of the way about 90% of the time if you simply pass the puck for the assist.
