Just listened to (parts of) it. Didn't recognize it until the chorus came in. Had no clue who it was, and don't like the song at all either way.

Almost as bad as MCR.

I don't listen to this type of music at all but i did have a girlfriend who did. When compared to most other hip hop/rap she played this was the only guy i could respect. The dude can sing and clearly has a 70's funk influence that gives his songs a "fuller" sound. If i was forced to hear any hip hop type music I would hate him the least

He's definitely talented and it's nice when he comes on the radio. I think it's just, there was a time when I just wasn't listening as much as I used to and most artists who came up after that don't resonate with me and he's one of them.

How do you decide which artists you're posting?

I have a huge list of artists I've come up with.  Generally they need to be well known and popular enough that they're not gonna see ten votes.  So it is unlikely that I will ever do dredg or HORSE the Band.  They also need to optimally be neither universally loved nor universally despised.  Will I do Led Zeppelin or Nickelback?  Maybe, but not anytime soon.  Seems like they'd have very predictable results.

Then I'm roughly ordering them so that we get some variety.  Next week will be a metal band, a rapper the week after that, and a female pop star after that.  Unless I change the order, which I might.

 

2/10 same old Max Martinesque garbage.. or rather he is becoming a second generation of the same school of writing. I'm pretty sure they make 100 versions of a song and triangle test them to find the most consumable variant.

then again the center of my music universe right now is Van Der Graaf Generator and Premiata Forneria Marconi so take my opinion with a grain(shaker) of salt.
