Just posting this to see what you guys think. I preordered Wave 2 a few weeks ago so I wouldn't have to pay "Marth" prices. Hopefully, I can stroll in to Gamestop this weekend, pick them up and watch the rest of the world burn as eBay prices skyrocket. I'd be willing to help some members with the Amiibo if store stock gets low. My area seems to have a good amount of inventory.

Hopefully it's not Captain Falcon. Him and Pit are the only two I'd really grab.

I would have to guess Little Mac. He's the only 'odd' man out in that bunch.

Just pre-ordered Pit and Capt. Falcon. Just so I don't have to try to track them down if they become the "hot" item. And yes, Dec. 31st is the pickup date, at least at Best Buy.

That's a placehoder date. Retailers use Dec 31st for a placeholder for 4th quarter releases until they change it to the actual street date.

I love them, but hate the way they're being sold. Gamestop says 12/31. I called to verify because Target and Wal-Mart releases them this weekend. Gamestop, in return, told me the in-store release is 12/13.

I'm indifferent towards them.

They're collectible by nature, there's bound to be those that are loved and thus mass produced and adversely there's bound to be some produces in low numbers.

Just common business on Nintendo's part really. Can't let Disney and Skylanders take all the market now. Especially because Nintendo's history in the toy business.

I've had to buy them all now just in case, heaven forbid, you are required to use one in some future game and I would be at the mercy of the resellers.

If you want a good figurine look at figma figures.

I don't think you can compare the two. Amiibos are about $13 and have a function attached to them.

Figma's, while very detailed and of better quality, are just $50 paperweights. Apples and oranges.

This is Skylanders all over again. All of the harder to find ones right now are going to be everywhere after the holidays, happens with these interactive toys every year.

I got Pit, Captain Falcon, and Little Mac. I might sell them if prices really go nuts or just keep them because I think they look cool. I know it's a commercial racket but it reminds me of all the old Nintendo merchandise in the NES days. I don't like the idea of getting in on the price gouging but if I paid $13 and people are spending four or five times that, I might sell and use the money for my main collection.

But short answer, Pit and Little Mac I expect to be the rarest, Captain Falcon I just really like.
