Here's my old 27 inch Philips. Don't think the new one will fit in this stand but I'll probably end up keepin both. Just gotta find a new stand.

Always my favorite topic, I need to get ahold of one of these Trinitron's I hear so much about.
In my experience, they are actually quite common and cheap.

I don't know why, but my SNES looks like gold on it. I haven't tried it with my NES yet though. Also, I doubt a light gun would work with it.

I despise CRTs for their size. If I was living in a more permanent place, I'd probably get one.

Do rear projection TVs work well? ]]>

Loads of people love the Sony Trinitrons, which come in two sizes. I think 32" and....22"? My tube tv is just some crappy Samsung we've had for forever and it works just fine.

Also, happy birthday!

i thought the 2 sizes you were gonna mention were "ow my back" and "good thing i have health insurance" ]]>

You also gotta know what specs to look for/are desirable (like triple-comb filtering). ]]>

I've heard great things about it so I'm curious to try it out. First I have to get it ouf of my car because it weighs a lot.
I especially like the fact that it has two SCART porst which both support RGB (the Trinitron also has two ports but only the first has RGB support) plus a S-Video port.

I'm personally partial to the Commodore 1702 monitor.  I just got the right cables to run my s-video cables for the SNES/N64/GC into a chroma/luma signal for this guy and it's insane!  Regular composite is still stunning on this tube.  Best most affordable monitor/tv for retro gaming period in my opinion (if you can find it locally!)  EDIT: AND it's light weight, easy to carry, and built like a tank!

I have one pluged in my playstation kiosk and i love it

Well then you're already rolling with the king! I've obviously heard broadcast monitors by Sony are fantastic but are crazy expensive and hard to come by.  In my opinion is that every tube I've seen in person pales in comparison to the 1702. ]]>
