40 available at both my local WalMarts, Target numbers not showing up yet. Gonna give them a call later to see if a midnight release is happening, despite the fact that both stores close at midnight.

My local Walmart is selling them at midnight, although they are a 24 hour store.   ]]>

A good district manager giving out good information and keeping your stores up to date only help sales and customer relations.

If some guy keeps calling asking about a snes classic, it would benefit the store to say well we have this many for non preorder's so line up early. My DM gave stores the information on full allocations numbers, people who missed out on preorders signed up on a list and were called manually today. ]]>

District manager's have more information then people give them credit for and peope assume their knowledge is the same as the public, it is not. Of course District managers have conference calls with all the stores everyday/once a week to fill them in with information about current plans and future ones. You can even ask them questions as a manager.

By the time a DM knows, the Internet already knows.

Nintendo has been saying all along that far, far more of these would be produced. They made a point to say this very early on (I believe even when it was announced).

DM's dont always have good information either. The DM for my home tous r us told everyone that worked there that the snes mini was being released this past friday. My ex still works there and told me. From personal experience DM's for stores i have worked for dont know much more than who and which store are making there sales goals and how many rewards cards you con'd people into. They dont really care about particular products

Hah...reminds me of the Walmart worker telling me and others to go home the evening of Thursday November 10. She kept saying the NES Classic Edition would go on sale Saturday. We still waited in the electronics section until midnight and got our NES CE.
