That hyperspin front looks really sharp, very user friendly (once it's been properly set up).

Themes (with artwork from the original boxes) for every game, with a little preview windows showing the gameplay?? Wow, super cool. ]]>

However, I think the guy really should have released his configuration and stuff for Hyperspin, that looks extremely complicated and time consuming to replicate.
It's really not complicated... but it is time consuming (especially if you're setting up multiple consoles). You'd need access to the hyperspin FTP for any of the art assests (which you can get access to by donating to Hyperspin). You'd also need an account at Emumovies.com (also requires donation to get access to the FTP) to get all the intro videos which you see when you select a game. Not to mention a rom pack for each console.... and a few hours to tweak it all.

It's rewarding once it's all finished though.... I still prefer actual hardware, but for gaming in my home office, it works perfectly.

Like a certain poster that I don't remember said, this would be excellent for, literally, an arcade cabinet. Only problem is that only about 200 games are Arcade-worthy, and that's 200 games to be reprogrammed, in assembly, to be arcade/PC-10 games.
Why would you have to re-write 200 arcade games in assembly? PC's (like the one in the video) can run MAME just fine.... plus Hyperspin was built for MAME cabs....  ]]>

I agree it looks cool, but what's the point?
It's all "because I can". That's really the only point. It looks cool and it's flashier, that's for sure, but even still, I prefer having each actual game.

That front end is called Hyperspin... I use it my mame/emu cab machine. It's a chore to setup, but it really looks awesome when you're done. I don't like the wheel logos he used though... the transparent ones without the oval look so much nicer.

But I dig his intro movie... I might have to look in to doing a custom one myself. Hypserspin is awesome, def the best frontend out there.
