2013 FTW! Or 2020!!!

what is 2020 going to be? Do you have the inside scoop?

Study your notes. You might find a clue.

Wow, that's big. I'll sharpen my pencils and get my bagged lunch ready. ]]>

I have never played or collected homebrews, but I am damn curious what's on those Christmas carts after years of seeing NA people all about them.

This past year's was very good. It was an isometric downhill skiing / snow boarding game. Like ski free. You can get the rom off retrousb for free and assembly line podcast did an episode about it. CTWC 2018: The Archives is not a game. It is a commemorative token of an event, the Classic Tetris World Championships. It gives some history about the CTWC, past results, and then has a couple of screens of falling blocks that reveal the names of the prior year's rankings. Copies were given to last year's participants (white packaging), and there were some for sale (yellow packaging). Sales and marketing were handled by the CTWC, although some made their way to the Retrotainment booth before show's end. In 2017 a similar item was for sale, but there was nothing in the shell, so the thought was to give them something that people could pop into their system instead of just an empty shell. Not a game (and there isn't one hidden in there either), so if you're looking for something to play you're not missing anything.

Our second collaborative event-based project, "The 6502 Collective's Convention Quest at the Let's Play Gaming Expo Irving, TX August 9-11, 2019" is a game, don't worry  . Thanks for the clarification!

Dragon Feet and Battle Kid 2 LE are two I'd like, but I'm probably not paying crazy prices for them. I'm also curious about the TWCT cart sold at PRGE last year because I don't actually know what it is and the Retrotainment people did a terrible job selling it   They told me it was just a list of scrolling names then tried to hype up how fast it was going to sell out (R@RE!), but I think there's actually something else on the cart!

I've scratched the really "high end" stuff off my want list and resigned that I'll never have it all. If I was going to ever have a truly collectible homebrew, Garage Cart would be the one and I'll never have that! I was curious about the TWCT cart as well. I was talking to Tim at PRGE last year when someone handed him a stack of those carts and he asked if I wanted one because they’ll sell out soon. I remember thinking that from his description it didn’t sound as interesting and I wanted to save my money for a few games I was on the prowl for. I still wonder if I let something special slip through my fingers.

All those ROMs are freely available FWIW, and the multicart of the first 9 games has been available since 2017. 2013 is where it's at though
You spelled 2012 wrong!
