Just look for the contest posted each week in the Gamer's Gauntlet section and join the fun.  You don't have to sign up or anything.  Just take a picture of your score with your NA user name somewhere in the photo and submit it in the thread.  The contests run for an entire week and have certain rules you have to abide by.  Each contest has a minimum score that you have to beat in order to be able to submit a score.  This participation score changes each week depending on the game.  Here's a link to all of the contest rules:

As for Nestopia, I'm not familiar with it.  I use NESten instead.
