That is an insane score for the innertubes event. You must have found an effective strat for constantly deflating the other guy's tube.

Yeah and I achieved it in the last half hour. You need to have the pocket knife cause it gives the most points. (750 a kill) And then basically stay in front of Lester and point yourself backward and just keep stabbing. You need to be able to do this on a straightaway with no moguls, since the moguls turn you around. You also have to avoid picking up and lesser weapons (fork and dart). I also got the 1000 point bonus for winning the race.
Interesting. I didn't know that some weapons give more points than others.

I cant believe it but I actually enjoy this game.  All the events.  I want to get better at Downhill Blitz.  The tube one I feel has a high point ceiling too.

I still don't entirely understand how you're supposed to land when you do tricks in the half-pipe.

It might be superstition, but I click the A button when I land.  But really, if you are attempting a spin, you need to complete the spin or else you bail.  So I guess you need to pick up enough speed?  The spins are hard but they are the most lucrative, and if you dont do them, your bonus Trick score sucks...

I can sometimes pull off the spins where you press right or left and A. You can also do flips by pressing up and A when you're at full speed, but I've never been able to land them.

There seems to be a lot of luck involved with the snowball blitz. High score depends on lucking into a lot of random shovels and stars. There's not much you can do if the game doesn't want to give you them.

No doubt, especially shovels.  I cant break 4,000.  I'm using a keyboard and trying to switch directions by pressing A + direction is really unresponsive, is it the same on a controller?

Yes. Even with the controller it can be annoying trying to switch directions. The controls aren't the best.
