Hey yo!

I'm hoping some one can help me out with some good advice. I'm currently looking for what would be the best tv for all my systems from NES up until PS2/DC. I currently have a Sony 1996 36 inch tube tv that I use two spliters on for six systems (PS1 oldest system set up for that tv).

From what I gathered flat screens are the best, but I want it to only be 4:3 not 16:9 or 4:3 with black bars. Are Sony Wega's the best? I thought I got lucky in my area with a Sony KD-36XS955 on Craigslist but it's a little too advance for the old systems.

What's the max size I should look at? 36? 32?

Any help would be great and make and model numbers.

Thanks again,

Vamp

I'd say, if you come across some just test em out and see what looks best to you.

This is one of their awesome HD SFP Wega HS Trinitron tubes. It probably will not work with Zapper/R.O.B. but it's the 4:3 equivalent of my awesome 16:9 KV-XBR910. It's perfect! ]]>

Every Sony Trinitrons I found showed color flaws, image distortion, etc.

The one I got for free has too much red, and nothing that can be fixed in the service menu or regular menu. So I kept my Philips and the Trinitron is my backup, waiting under my staircase.

But like I mentioned above, any modern CRT made by a reputable brand should be excellent, as the Trinitron patents expired in 1996 I believe, so anything built after that would use the same technology. Just avoid cheap brands, it's not like the good brands are more expensive these days. ]]>

I managed to pickup a mint 27" off Kijiji/Craiglist for free. So keep a lookout for it as it comes up once in a while and people just throw them out. ]]>
