I'm not sure how accurate that is.  It seems like I always have an advantage in the race immediately after I buy something.  It seems like they don't get the upgrade until the following race.  I think the upgrades are necessary to finish the later tracks anyway.  Since you're racing against time as well, even if you're in first place, you'll lose if you run out of time.  Without the upgrades, you won't be able to finish some of the tracks on time. ]]> Sega Master System Weekly Contest Round 5: R.C. I haven't had a chance yet, but I'll get plenty of opportunities to play as the rest of the week progresses.  I've got a couple new recent Master System game purchases to test out (Aerial Assault and Montezuma's Revenge), so I'll be playing R.C. Grand Prix after I test those.
 
Neat, you got Montezuma's Revenge in time.  I think it's one of the best Sega Master System platformers, so hopefully there's decent participation next week.
