Hmm strange... I have cleaned maybe like 2000 games so far and this is the second one like this which I found. The other one is this:

This game doesn't have stickers on the back & frontside of the cassette unlike the one from jonebone.

Also this game has this Japanese? info on it just like the Super Mario Bros I have.

Well, if it was in a production cart, it is the final version of the game, so its not a proto, regardless if it has an eprom or not.

the boards of the two are different cuz rubtux has a mario bros.. and jone a mario bros/duckhunt

looks like its a run of them that has it? maybe they ran out of normal chips and used these for a batch?
