I'm still calling shenigans on the whole saved on second day by sucking poison out but to each their own, that was a fun game.
I'm thinking its probably because the doc can save anyone from death in any fashion, not just standard wolf kills (they can most often also block vigilantes and stuff).

So was the "letter" saying MBC was guarding a door complete bullshit?

Great game! Good job everyone!

For the record I never tracked dra600n, it was just a hunch. Hurray for the unfounded death accusation!

Haha, nice! With your accusation and his claim of being Pizza Face I knew he had to be a turtle.
Nonsense The only thing that tipped anyone off was Alakhira's accusation. Pizza Face and the role was as plausible as everything else in the game, especially seeing some of the obscure roles that popped up (Usagi, for example). We definitely abused the town's own confusion for our gain.

But it also proves what I was saying that the town was blindly following anything and everything, that was just the one time the town got lucky (and then the rest of you started putting the pieces together). ]]>

Background:
So why don’t Lion-o and the Thundercats just go out during the day and find Mum-ra’s tomb when he is weak and recovering and put him down once and for all?  Well they did that you wouldn’t have a show, but makes for a good what if story.

I had a couple different ideas about where I wanted to go with a werewolf round, originally I wanted to do a Castlevania round with the Belmonts as the wolves with Drac and a whole mess of monsters as the town around Halloween.  But the timing didn’t quite work out and I started liking the idea of doing a similar format but with TMNT characters.  The 4 turtles (plus an ally or two) was the perfect size for a wolf team and the universe has a whole wealth of baddies to pull from.

The story is a riff on the 47 Ronin, after the death of their master, samurai code says to commit suicide due to failing to protect their master but the 47 Ronin planned an elaborate suicide mission for revenge against the shogun.  While the turtles are called ninja, their code of honor is a bit closer to the samurai, esp Leonardo’s.  This gives them motivation to take the fight to the foot home turf where they are outnumbered and have to rely on ninja stealth and their awful fake rubber mask disguises.

Set-up:
Wolves
I really wanted the wolves to have some teeth, so I gave them each an ability.  I found the whole “one player gets to call all the shots” setup kind of problem, so I wanted to make all the Turtles even but different.  It was up to them to decide who makes the kill, but the player making the kill also could use an ability.  Also the same ability could not be used twice in a row, so the Turtles couldn’t always rely on one power alone.   This gave all the Turtles agency in what moves they wanted to make.

Leo – poisoner.  Instead of a kill the target is poisoned and dies the following night.  Causes misdirection and puts the bodyguard in a double jeopardy situation.

Don – cleaner.  The town do not get the reveal of whack and the wolves get it instead.  misdirection.

Mike – ninja.  Is not picked up investigation roles.  I guess this is the “Alpha” but it is not a passive ability it has to be used.  Counter investigation roles.

Raph – strongman.  The kill cannot be blocked.  Counter protective roles.

Also they have a town traitor type role in April O’ Neil who couldn’t meet with them or perform the whacks but had an investigation ability to find the turtles or out town roles.

Third Party
Karai – survivor.  Has been both ally and enemy of the turtles and had an alternate win condition of needing to stay alive till the end but could win with either side.

Town
Krang – tracker.  Basically a weaker cop.

Usagi Yojimbo – bodyguard.  Doc with limits.  Couldn’t protect the same person twice in a row and could only protect self once.  Kinda a push siding him with the Foot but his name means rabbit bodyguard.

Shredder – jack of all trades.  1 shot investigation, protection, roleblock, and message.

Mutagen Man – bomb.  Kill role, but it is kind of a revenge kill.  Bit of a deep dive character.

Bebop and Rocksteady – brothers.  Kind of combined lovers (shared life) and communication role like neighbors/masons.

Rest of the town were vanilla.  Already seemed like a whole pile of roles were in play, I didn’t want to stack the deck.

So yeah there is a good number of roles but everything had limits, weaknesses, counters, allowed errors, or was a risk/reward, so no one power was too powerful.

I’m not a huge fan of clues so no gimmies like telling the town who got roleblocked or messaging players to tell them if their powers worked correctly or not.  It is more fun if players figure that out on thier own.  Also tried not to let too much slip out in the story other than Krang and Shredder were in the mix, though I felt that would have been rather obvious, many of the other characters much less so.

Mostly I tried to remain neutral and let things play out.  I made the set-up, but the fun is watching what people do with their roles.

Summary:
Day 1
There was an early push against MBC but the Metal and Shiz were expected of being alt accounts of me.  Wut?  This was a wolf play but enough seemed to buy into it.  Kind of lame I invite someone to play and you guys knock them out right away, but I was trying to stay neutral so I couldn’t say anything. :/

Night 1
Wolves went after Red thinking he had a good role and hid the body, he was just VT.  Metal investigate Kokiri and found out he was VT.

Day 2
There was a big push for Limbo but Santa’s self vote turned everyone on him which lead to the lynch of both him and NES.

Night 2
Kokirichild was poisoned.  Metal blocked Limbo.

Day 3
Metal thinking he stopped the whack reveals himself and pushes Limbofunk  who was lynched.  Right but for the wrong reasons.

Night 3
alakhira did track a wolf but that wolf also killed him (he was using his powers so you wouldn’t have picked him up anyway.)  Br81zad saves Kokiri and this is witnessed by GreatGadon.

Day 4
Drag00n and Metal really get into it and here is where the battle lines are drawn.  Drag00n claims Pizzaface but is lynched anyways.  Those who sided with him suffer the following days.

Night 4
Batteries is whacked.  Metal sends a message to GreatGadon reading “Are you our next wolf”

Day 5
MBC gets lynched, siding with Drag00n and earlier suspicion finally catches up to him.

Night 5
Doner Is  whacked.

Day 6
Dave and GreatGadon are both suspected.  GreatGadon manages to out Br81zad and avoids being lynched and Dave takes the noose.

Night 6
Fearing Gadon’s ability the wolves whack him.

Day 7
TENGEN is pushed and reveals he is the bomb, but after Drag00n’s similar but bogus claim no one buys it.  He is lynched but takes Brock, another wolf with him.

Night 7
Wasg13 tries to whack Metal but is blocked by Br81zad

Day 8
Wasg13 vs SAG26.  Wasg is lynched town win!

Final thoughts:
Limbofunk – For being your first round and having a tough role, you did fine.  You managed to avoid getting lynched once but Metal’s claim did you in, maybe you could have got out of it but I dunno he really put you on the spot.

Wolves – You guys dominated early in the game.  You were well coordinated, caused lots of misdirection, and took advantage of the town’s mistakes.  Even GreatGadon did great job of outing people and causing mislynches.  Your downfall seemed to be when the Drag00n lynch went down it became clear who was on whose side and made it harder for you guys to blend in after.  Also you suffered a series of setbacks that left wolves totally desimated.

Town – You made a lot of bad calls early on in this game, but when it counted you stepped up to the plate and mounted a major comeback.  Congratz!

Everyone played really well and you should all be proud of yourselves, there were no clues and the powers were weaken quite a bit so it was all you guys.

MVP:
Br81zad.  Not only did you make two successful saves, but you had 4 or the 5 wolves pegged fairly early on.  Wolf hunter to the max.
