I spent like 100 dollars in quarters on this game in the arcade. Plus about 20 hours on the version found on the SF Anniversery collection for the PS2.  Granted, that was a long time ago but with age my hands dont move as fast. I'm Lil Mac sitting on the bench and I won't be pushing start for this genre anymore.

Fair enough.

I actually feel you there--When I picked up SFIII on XBLA, I hadn't played it since the SF Anniversary days on the PS2. Back then I played it religiously, and we (luckily) had an arcade machine at the last arcade that was open around here (before it shut down). I got a lot of playtime on it, and back then I was pretty serious with fighting games. By the time I got the XBLA version though, I had been out of it for years. I definitely wasn't as fast as I was before, but it eventually came back to me. Never quite to the level it used to be, but then again I didn't spend that much time with it. TBH, the connectivity issues and the lack of having to play with people in person is what turned me off about it the most. It's just not the same, playing online. ]]>

Nowhere near Street Fighter in the fighting game rankings, but it gave us a decent alternative back in the day. I love the SNES port of MKII BTW ]]>

Um.. Fighting games require ridiculous amounts of practice if you expect to succeed at them. Especially Street Fighter III.

To this day, I remember the fatalities, the moves (It kinda annoyed me when people used the terms A. B, X, Y, etc. instead of HP. LP. LK, HK, etc.)

Most MK games I played on the Genesis, or Saturn since only my cousins owned a SNES and PS1. Still, I think my favorite MK game would have to be Mortal Kombat Trilogy for the Saturn/PS1. I didn't like the N64 one since they didn't have the unmasked Sub-Zero. They gave all this moves to the masked one on the 64 version, but I just didn't like his combos. ]]>

Also, I feel you on the school related problems. When I created my fatalities, I would draw them and add detailed descriptions. Of course, I was also the kid who drew pages of torture devices for another game I was creating. I used to make my own games in my notebooks and envision them as I went. I often made my own sequels to popular titles and Mortal Kombat, was a popular choice. ]]>
