Getting back into building a MAME cab I've been debating which is the best way to go about building a new setup. I have an old laptop that will be great with the exception it has no S-Video out. So, I could set up this laptop and just use a 4:3 LCD monitor which would be easier to work with. Having said that, I would prefer a CRT but I don't think using the laptop I have will be an option.

Would you recommend buying a used computer with S-video out or just use the LCD with a few filters on it and the laptop I already have? Also, I will most likely be running Launch Box, so if I buy a used tower I want it to be cheap, have s-video, but still be powerful enough that it can run this app without issue.

If anyone has suggestions as to where to buy Sanwa buttons and a mapper in Canada that'd be awesome.
