I'm not sure but I remember there was several Zugly dolls and one of them looked like the "My Pet Monster" doll.

I still have my Zugly from when I was a kid but he's missing the chain with lock so he's running wild all over the place.
Not much info about them online.
I remember a tv commercial with the catch phrase: Oh, they are ugly... No! they are Zugly...
