The short of it is that I had the opportunity to buy the original art for Sonic the Hedgehog 2 directly from famous video game artist Greg Martin's estate.

This may or may not be his final submission to Sega; but at the very least it was the one he kept. Being that Greg did so much, this piece was mixed in among personal affects and overlooked; but not by me.

The piece was cleaned, acidic tape removed and framed.

I submit for your viewing pleasure:

Enjoy! ]]>

As stated, just acquired this beautiful set at what I would call a reasonable price. The "sort of" comes into play as it is missing 3 vital components in order to be complete; outback Joey Sega console, outback Joey cartridge, and Outback Joey game cart manual.

I would say this is bad as Outback Joey items don't come up at auction or in the wild often; but the good is I think this is one of the most complete sets I have seen (minus the aforementioned items). It may be missing the big pieces, but includes all of the miniscule pieces that you never, ever see; including all of the stickers, velcro, and plastic hooks for wires. It even has the plastic 'right angle. '

Enjoy photos:

These papers were included as well. I imagine they went to the bIke the previous owner used the Outback Joey with, but not official to the set.

As stated previously, I think the set is as close as you can get to complete...now on the hunt for the final 3 pieces...yikes. ]]>

On Friday I was off from work over seeing a chimney repair. I hop on ebay to take a look at my saved searches and listed just minutes before was RAMPAGE 2:UNIVERSAL TOUR; except this one didn't look like the normal kind and caught my eye. I couldn't hit "buy it now" fast enough:

So you think the story would end there, happy ending right? NOPE.

As I am closing my bed around midnight I hear a *ding* on my phone signifying I had an email...no one emails me that late.

It was a notification from eBay stating the seller had refunded my payment...I was livid.

I jump up and start feverishly writing an email to the seller, stating essentially "I know someone must have gotten to you, but it is wrong for you to back out. Please reconsider"

Surprisingly he writes back stating and confirming he was canceling my order because he found out it was worth a ton more and wants more $$$ and won't be selling to me.

I write back again and say that is wrong by ebay standards and moral standards. But after that he surprises me once again and says "you know what, youre right; I will go through with deal"

And look what arrived today!

No plush figure;though he said he might still have it at his parents. But stated that since he knows value now won't sell to me since it's worth "like $1,000"

Oh well!

Don't ever think good Ebay finds are dead. ]]>

Well, like that of my Post #1, this is my very recently acquired Mike Tyson's Punchout 1988 event poster. It came from the sane event as the gloves and just (if not more) rare.

I found it on ebay, poorly listed and got it for a steal. Surprised no one saw it, seeing as how mass produced standees attract a lot of attention and can sell for 100s. Seller says he attended the event back in the day and when no one was looking stole it off the wall. His thievery back in the day is my gain today.

Here it is (it is a huge poster, second photo shows next to MTPO CIB for size reference):

Another awesome item I had framed.

Do you happen to still have these, or did you sell them?  Because I bought them online over a year ago hehe
