Well, I can do the best two out of three for the 3rd-8th gens...so if I ever do get around to taking this plunge, it'll be the first gen (4th) that I can do all three. ]]>

What exactly does the TG-16 offer that the GEN and SNES don't have? The definitve version of Dracula X (believe me its one of, if not the best Castlevania ever IMO), Bonk trilogy, tons of shooters (I'd say it has the best, if not second best, library of shooters ever - second only to maybe the Sega Saturn), turbo buttons built into the controller, it was the first CD system EVER (not the Sega CD as Sega falsely claimed), you could save games to the Turbo Booster or CD unit (very unique at the time), the beginning of the Bomberman series, the beginning of the Ys series......

List goes on and on IMO.  Great system!

Pretty good lineup!
Good lineup indeed, a mix of shmups and some classics.

One thing worth mentioning that hasn't been touched on yet.  The cost of entry from a hardware perspective on TG16 is MUCH higher than NES, so the mini does have significant appeal.  Furthermore, the TG16 was very add-on dependent, you couldn't even save your game or play with AV cables unless you bought a Turbobooster.  So not only do you need the system and the game but you need peripherals.

So for games like Neutopia 1 / 2 (both included), they are great Zelda clones but it isn't worth playing them on original hardware unless you have a full setup to save too.  A mini with save states is actually a pretty significant feature here.

Now that the lineup is announced I'd expect them to sell very well around $80, $100 could be a bit much of a stretch.  And I'm not sure if I could ever see these things in the $50-$60 range unless they are massively overproduced.  The games and hardware emulation do provide a lot of value here actually.  Unlike the PS1 mess where we knew that was bad before it even hit the market.
all my info is thru the cupodcast but it sounds like 100 for the unit w/ 1 control. if you want a second controller, you have to buy that, plus a hub to plug it in since there's only 1 port? so probably 150 after addons and tax if you want to do 2 player games.
