As far as I know, it's never been used, and no emulator knows what to do with it. I don't even know if it's on the Super Game Boy or GBA.
Specifically, I was wondering:
Could a sound chip fit on the cartdrige, such as a Yamaha YM3526?
Would it work? Would the battery use be reasonable?
If I use this in a game, what should I put in the cartridge header?
Could this be emulated? How would I test a game for sound bugs?
Is there a better sound chip to use? Could FM synthesis or PCM circuits be put directly on the chip?
Does this limit what else can fit on the chip?

In my mind, mapping to address space seems straightforward enough, especially with a MBC (just map it in like RAM, "cleverly" stick address lines onto chip selects), but I am no electronics expert, and have no means to verify what I'm saying. ]]>
