Description:
Golf with an overweight Mario! Master both the front and back 9 holes to maximize your points. Neither half is more difficult so they will share the same scoring.

Rules:

  1. You must play on a real NES
  2. You may submit multiple scores during the week, but only the best one counts
  3. You may not use any Game Genie codes
  4. You must provide a picture of the TV with your score on it accompanied by your NA screen name (as in the NWC challenge) to receive a score. Take a picture after 9 holes, and another after 18.
  5. You can use scores from different rounds. If you post a 38-34 one round and a 34-38 the next, that would be good for 8 points.

Scoring:

Points are awarded for your best effort during the week.

    Front 9 (Holes 1-9)
  • <= 31 (-5) = 10 Pts
  • <= 33 (-3) = 5 Pts
  • <= 35 (-1) = 4 Pts
  • <= 36 (E) = 3 Pts
  • <= 38 (+2) = 2 Pts
  • <= 40 (+4) = 1 Pt

    Back 9 (Holes 10-18)
  • <= 31 (-5) = 10 Pts
  • <= 33 (-3) = 5 Pts
  • <= 35 (-1) = 4 Pts
  • <= 36 (E) = 3 Pts
  • <= 38 (+2) = 2 Pts
  • <= 40 (+4) = 1 Pt

    2 Pt Bonus
  • +2 Pts for getting a hole in 1 on any hole. 3, 9, 11, & 14 are your best bet.

Don't forget, you can still submit scores for all of the previous games. It's never too late to get in the competition.

Duck Hunt - 90%
Wild Gunman - 60%
Pinball - 50%
Tennis - 30%
DKJr Math - 20%
Baseball - 10%

Game #6: Duck Hunt

Description:
No description necessary here. Shoot ducks for points... yadda yadda yadda.

Rules:

  1. You must play on a real NES
  2. You may submit multiple scores during the week, but only the best one counts
  3. You may not use any Game Genie codes
  4. You must provide a picture of the TV with your score on it accompanied by your NA screen name (as in the NWC challenge) to receive a score. This can be the high score screen on the main menu.
  5. Please don't hold your zapper right up against the screen. I find that a distance of 6 feet or so, depending on the size of your TV makes for a good challenge. Again, we're on the honor system here.

Scoring:

Points are awarded for your best effort during the week.

    1 Duck
  • > 1,000,000 = 10 Pts (roll the score)
  • > 705,000 = 5 Pts
  • > 450,000 = 4 Pts
  • > 280,000 = 3 Pts
  • > 155,000 = 2 Pts
  • > 65,000 = 1 Pt

    2 Ducks
  • > 1,000,000 = 20 Pts (roll the score)
  • > 705,000 = 10 Pts
  • > 450,000 = 8 Pts
  • > 280,000 = 6 Pts
  • > 155,000 = 4 Pts
  • > 65,000 = 2 Pts
  • > 37,000 = 1 Pt

    2 Pt Bonus
  • +2 Pts for beating Round 20 in Clay Shooting mode

Don't forget, you can still submit scores for all of the previous games. It's never too late to get in the competition.

Wild Gunman - 70%
Pinball - 60%
Tennis - 40%
DKJr Math - 30%

I kept getting high 60,000 and low 70,000 scores when the time ran out until I broke through the 75,000 mark! It's one of those games where you either do really well one turn and really poorly on the next.

Wild Gunman score to come soon!

Description:
It's time to break out some totally awesome Nintendo accessories! This week we're taking our Zapper to the Wild West and testing our gunslinging skills. Draw against just one outlaw or take on two at a time for more points. Earn a bonus by singlehandedly bringing down an entire gang with your 15(?) shooter.

Rules:

  5. Straight from the instruction manual:
    Quickly draw your gun and shoot the gunman. *It is against the rules for a player to draw his gun before the gunman does.
    Obviously, I can't enforce this, but it does make the game far more fun and challenging if you do this. If you don't have a holster just hold the gun at your side until your opponent says "Fire".

Scoring:

Points are awarded for your best effort during the week.

    1 Outlaw
  • > 420,000 = 10 Pts
  • > 260,000 = 5 Pts
  • > 210,000 = 4 Pts
  • > 160,000 = 3 Pts
  • > 110,000 = 2 Pts
  • > 60,000 = 1 Pt

    2 Outlaws
  • > 1,000,000 = 20 Pts (roll the score)
  • > 730,000 = 10 Pts
  • > 550,000 = 8 Pts
  • > 460,000 = 6 Pts
  • > 280,000 = 4 Pts
  • > 140,000 = 2 Pts
  • > 80,000 = 1 Pt

    2 Pt Bonus
  • +2 Pts for beating Wave 7 in Gang mode

Don't forget, you can still submit scores for all of the previous games. It's never too late to get in the competition.

I followed that up with a 6-4 4-6 4-6 loss to level 5. I had it at 4-4 in the 2nd and 3rd sets, but fell apart down the stretch in both to give the match away. I don't think I've ever done that well against him before without using an emulator and save states.

I don't have a Pinball score yet... I'm horrible at it. I'll see if I can put something good together in the next couple of hours.

Dust off your Zappers, Game #5 is Wild Gunman. Scoring posted tomorrow.

You can submit scores for both, but only the best one counts. It's a pick your poison kind of system. The Game B targets are arguably harder which is why they are worth more points.

I have no idea how easy some of these point targets are to achieve as I am pretty terrible at this game, so it's possible that my scale is way off. That's part of why it took so long to come up with this. It'll hopefully prove to be somewhat balanced.
