Even though I wasn't interested in bidding, I was following the thread pretty closely. He made everything pretty clear from the get-go, and answered questions as they were posed to him. It was always clear that if there was a substantial high bid on the lot of games, that would win over high bids on the breakdown of individual games (which he listed for convenience). I guess if you wanted to win a specific one bad enough, the smart thing to do would have been to offer on the whole lot and resell the ones you didn't want.

From a learning standpoint, having a few auction elements to this offer thread probably didn't help, i.e. an end time, using the word bidder, etc. Given his newness to the forums, I'd say cut him a bit of slack, and realize that Mark and company will do what they do best, give everyone here a taste of the never-seen. Cheers to you guys once more for bringing to the public a rare piece of NES history. Thank you! ]]>

The seller sold the prototypes to the person that offered the most for the lot. Sounds fairly straight forward to me.

If the sale is completed, could we have a mod lock this thread up? No point in letting it snowball into a group lashing. If there was any wrong doing (which I don't think there was), I think we can all agree that is was not intentional/malicious.

Let's keep it positive!

Easy to say if you're the winning party.

It's easy to be the winning party when you offer the most money.  Sorry man, I know you're upset, but you weren't the top bidder.

Did you read his message to me? How am I supposed to take that otherwise? There were no bidding updates after that. This is no way to do business.

I'm confused. Were you the highest bidder or the highest offer outside of the bidding?

Highest bidder.

Jone:  What was your offer on the lot?  Must have been pretty high with all of the interest you have shown in this thread.

You made a comment that somebody bid for all 4 and when you broke it down that it was higher per cart. Well if the person did it once ( and stood by there bid) they should have no problem doing it again. FOr all you know you might geven get more money. People tend to get into bidding wars, when they see the numbers infront of them. Sometimes, people will bid more for something just so somebody else wn't get it. You never know. Collectors here are have weird tendencies.

All this coming from a guy who has no interest in bidding. ]]>

I can tell you with 100% confidence that there absolutely were bids after yours, so you shouldn't feel screwed in the least.

I for one would be furious if I missed out on a once in a lifetime item when I was the high bidder...

It was stated at 4:30 PM that the high bidder on the lot would take president over individual high bids.  All of this is a non-point though as if the winning bid was divided by 4 was higher than individual offers on any game.

I can confirm at this point that I won the lot and that Josh has been nothing but a top notch seller and a guy who really pus the community first.  He really was hoping that these ended up with someone who would share them with the community, and all can rest assured, Tommy T's Sound Editor will be available for download in a matter of days.

I understand people being upset, but I assure you all that my offer was considerable and there should be no resentment toward Josh at all.  The high bidder won this lot, I think with my track record of offering top dollar for nearly every NES proto that has publicly been for sale the last 2 years or so should help support this.
