Let me know if the image works. It is tiny as heck and I don't think the enlarged version is any larger than the thumbnail. ]]>

Well, in my search for photos of Famicom protos, I found a photograph of an Argus no Senshi prototype. Dunno if it is the build you are curious about or not.

If you don't know, this is the style of PCB that is generally housed in an FDS RAM adapter shell, but clearly this one has been removed from said case.
Wow, cool find! Any idea who the owner is?

Is it just me, or when I click on the picture it just shows that no picture is linked [X] ?

I was also surprised when the Monster Party proto surfaced, but I was extra surprised at what it sold for. I didn't realize there were those kinds of fans out there for that game, haha! (I think it sold for around ~$4,000? I could be way off here, but it was quite a large amount.)
Yeah, that build of the game is rather popular. The buyer was some big Famicom collector (famicomcafe) who I believe has bought some other big, not-released Famicom games. I THINK he dumped it for himself, then later resold it. I do not know what it sold for after that, but  I think I once found the remnants of that listing. The cart has a "more than one might exist" look given the printed label and white casing, but who knows.  ]]>

I've always hoped this would be found one day. This and the alternate version of Friday the 13th.

Also I had a crazy idea:

What if those interested on NA chipped into a fund SHOULD a proto like that be found, and that money would be soley used to purchase, and then release games like that. Wouldn't have to worry about it going for $X,XXX, and then never seeing the light of day. ]]>

Prototypes for old games show up for sale very regularly, even obscure ones, popular ones, or ones that differ notably from the final release, so just keep looking and who knows, somebody might toss one up for sale.

The real question is, are you willing to spend the couple hundred that it could fetch at auction? ]]>
