It wasn't an insult.  I am not sure where you are getting that from.   It was a joke.  The nickname of the original GB is “brick”.  You mention how the Gameboy could never be scary so I made a joke about how it could be scary given its size weight and its nickname could be used to hit somebody in the head.  Therefore, it would be scary when wielded as weapon. I alluded to the fact that I was the recipient of such an attack facetiously, thus why it could be considered scary.  I purposely added this   smiley to indicate it was a joke.
